Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

I'm thinking of using the advanced true type arms to do the boss pose mod.

I used the new normal TrueType arms. They worked great.

Nah. He can have many poses. Haven't you been following this thread? I must admit I am not 100% satisfied with him since I can't pull off that look. I will do the mod when I get Catwoman. Just gonna use what i have laying around. he'll have the coat on so wont matter much. Until then, here is mine if you haven't seen my whole collection in that thread:

Yeah I just much prefer the way I have him posed with the coat. He looks great pretty much any way to decide to pose him. Great figure.

Such a shame since I don't own it yet I don't know his limitations.!

His elbows are very limited with his stock arms. He only bends 90 degrees. Try washing your head and bending your elbow only 90 degrees.

You didn't use the TTM20 arms? Which ones then? The TTM21?

I used the TTM20 arms and they too work great...same size and thickness (pause) as Banes OG arms just the texture is different. Looks great for boss pose with coat or sweater on...might bother many with vest only boss pose since more joints visible.

That was my initial thought. I want to do that pose with the coat on anyways. If the cheaper truetype arms would work, id use those instead of spending the cash on a ttm20 for just the arms. Although, using the ttm20 may be my best option so he has the same bulky arms.

No, I used the TTM-21 arms. Not because they're better, just cause I had them laying around. I would rather use a set of TTM-20 arms, which I have on the way to see if they'll work better. Not so sure about the biceps size. Maybe the bis are too big to bend all the way boss pose.

Thanks. At least I know they would work now. I like the size of the TTM20 arms too just because of the bulk. But the arms on yours look great. The jacket does a good job of adding the illusion of the bulk.

Thanks for replying. :hi5:

Yes it does help add the bulk. I'm not sure if the TTM-20 arms are too bulky for the coat or not? Afraid that they might be. I think I'm going to keep him the way he is now and sell my TTM-20 body when it comes in.

Sounds like a plan. That is my one worry with the coat. I thought I remember reading someone had to sand the arms to get it to work with the coat.

Hopefully someone can post pics of the TTM20 arms on with the coat.

EDIT: Nevermind. Post# 5487 shows the DX10 arms with the coat on. Looks good.

I just got it guys. I am really impressed. The pants are really tight, but I am gonna play with them a bit and see if I can't give it a better look.

Yank em out. Hard. I tried futzing but with no avail, then one day just decided to pull real hard. And now they look awesome.

With the exception of the nose thing I think this may be one of HT's best. Sculpt wise.

What's with all this I hear about sanding the arms down for articulation.

Please don't make me search through this madness....
