Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

no need when you have both kinds of fist grip hands like I do :yess: :wink1:

Interested to see more about that...

:1-1:

Well I won't be starting one unless I can explain it all. And even at that, I'm not sure many would want to do/spend the money on what I'm planing on doing :lol lots of sewing will be involved. not much of heating/freezing.

I'm sure everything you share will be appreciated. The more advanced stuff (sewing) is out of most of our collective league enough that we don't need an explanation. Just seeing your progress will be appreciated.

But I'm sure that lots of the stuff you will be doing will be worth explaining. Just looking at your list, these at least sound doable for many:

2: mod the right fist to house of the the 2 glove/gauntlets it come with
4: rework the nose area of the mask
5: make the coat more accurate along with weathering
6: work the traps (not sure though until I get the figure in hand)

Just starting a thread and reserving a bunch of posts on page one will be a great start. Even if all you do is organize the stuff other people share, people will really appreciate it. I already have an idea for how to bulk up the upper traps. :D

Indiana Jones comes with some to hold the bullwip then there are the closed fist grip that's just a hole in the hand like the one(s?) Leonidas comes with. I've kept both types of fist grip hands ever since Bane was fully revealed (clothing and all) as the villain of TDKR b/c I wanted to be safe depending on how HT went about making the arm with the guantlet

agreed. Like I said, I don't mind starting the thread and trying to keep up with it/manage it. I just know there will be high expectations after how you've managed and videoed your thread  not to mention you're clear and amazing pics compared to my less than mediocre ones :lol

On the T800 body

Which one? The new T-800 body has a lot better range of motion than that.

Maybe it just takes better posing, but the pics of him in the boss pose don't look all that good imo.

Nah it doesn't really, looks like someone is there trying to teach him how to fight.

"now put them in fists, yup yup..now raise them up" "uhh durr uhh like diss?"

Not digging the t800 body, it's probably a good alternative if you're not wanting to use the coat, but with the coat on, the stock body looks better, looks more natural.

Stock

The stock neck looks a little better. Too ba they didn't take a photo w/o the coat so we could see how those arms and shoulders match up.

Does SS declare a low value on their shipped item? I have never purchased from SS before and I'm afraid to pay the high shipping cost plus custom charge.

Pants look like a good color in that light.

I was watching the movie last night...and the pants looks always different in every scene.... I supposse it depends on the light.

So, for me, there's no issue with the pants like others say.

They don't declare lower value, since technically that's illegal :)

But they offer really low international shipping for figures of this size. They have some kind of deal with FEDEX, that allow's them to bulk ship them cheaply, if I am not mistaken. Anyway, I've never seen any US store that would offer lower shipping prices for 1/6 stuff than SS.

However You will be charged custom fees 100%, I am afraid.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

This looks more like Gangnam style than an arms crossed pose.

No, this was a deleted scene removed for time. It's the now infamous 'Bane's itchy elbow' scene.

No they do not. Every single figure they have set me, it has always come via FEDEX to me here in the UK with a full value customs declaration on it.

Its not just the color thats the problem, its also the fit.

Prepare to pay 100$ more when your item arrives as FEDEX will ask for "storage" fees. They're thieves if you are an international buyer.

Yes, they are by far the most expensive means to get a figure/set if you live outside US. I mean WTF is up with adding "handling fees"?? Thats what you are paying for with shipping!

Anyway, this figure looks a lot better than I originally thought it would, it has problems for sure, but the biggest plus is the headsculpt looks massively better. The proto looked like a fat generic baby head, this actually looks like Hardy, the costume is all fixable.

Thanks for the information.

Just wait to see what total I have to pay for the exclusive Joker 2.0:slap. In the mean time I'm going to cancel Bane as I can hit on eBay.
