Not much diecast on this one. But never mind it has PW voice and comes with great accessories! I hope SSC gets him in sooner than October!

*****, I was under the impression this would be mostly die-cast, not less than 20% die-cast.
with these numbers, they could've easily made it an all plastic figure? I for one feel screwed... there's not much to justify the price.

I don't like OMGs pics that much.
Weird poses of the head...
The PE pics are a bit better, especially since they show how the head "works".

So are the purple areas in the OMG pics metal or the orhers???

Where did you hear this?

Play Imaginative's Iron Man figures are close to 90 percent diecast. Hot Toy's diecast Iron Man efforts have been about 50 to 60 percent. This might be in that range.

Yeah the diecast is a bit misleading as the figures so far are not that much diecast. Its usually the upper arms, lower legs,
and back or chest. The rest of the parts are plastic, but like the mk42 because this guy had bd parts there had to be more
plastic.

Pardon me????
How does this figure then even deserve the DieCast logo?

Hmm... I always thought that the delays were because they had problems with the die cast parts.

So they probably reduced those down to those four areas.

Man, that's cheap! :/

Well I kinda expected it though, as I said anyone who has the mk42 knows that the bd parts are plastic and since
this guy had bd parts should have known this wouldn't have as much metal parts.

Here we go, the purple parts are diecast. Some parts on the back, which are not highlighted in the photo, may be diecast. Whatever it is, it ain't a lot.

I guess all of that extra money for "diecast" is going to Weller. Not that I hold it against him, but it's a lot o' green for not a lot of metal. On the bright side, it'll fit in better with what is almost sure to be an all-plastic BD MurphyCop.

I guess Hot Toys is redefining what it means to be "diecast." :lol

You do know that diecast is really cheap pot metal, don't you?

You guys really need to get it out of your heads that diecast = high quality. It doesn't.

I don't think it's the quality of the metal that's attractive to collectors, I think it's the added weight, the "heft." You hear it all the time from the guys who are gettin the new diecast IMs.

While I love the figure, I am disappointed @ HT for shortchanging us if OMG's diagram of the die-cast parts is accurate. They could have just satyed with plastics and offered this to us for much less. Like $30-50 off maybe.

ya, it's not that, more like this...

it's the added weight, the "heft.

I wasn't saying anything to imply diecast being high quality. just that the "new pricing" was mostly justified by the "DIE-CAST"ing thingy. this is how I feel anyway...

edit:
and as I suggested before, what's the point of the whole "DIE-CAST" thing now? they could've easily gone all plastic?

I'd have to hear reports of this thing falling apart in the box to cancel my order. But yeah, HT has been doing a lot of questionable s---. I guess I'm wearing the rose-colored glasses when it comes to Robo.
