Good point but do you work for them?, I love you Walker cause you have no love for Hot Toys, just like I have no love for the blind that follow SS and their bad paint applications, but unless we work at their factories we will never know what it takes to replicate the paint job, especially on a scale that is worldwide, I'm surprised they do the job they do, like I've said it prob. a sweat shop with people that have little or no art talent so what we get is better than most past releases which I'm happy with, its not perfect but better than my V.1 which I did own and I'm happy with that, I could careless about gimmicks just give me a good sculpt and a decent paint job and I'm happy it looks like Robocop good enough for me.

Mate, you can do a full pearl paintjob on a car by yourself. There's an extra step involved in applying the paints, but it's pretty much all in the paint. It's not magic. :)

Yeah, I mean really if people think you can't pose the figure, then those people really have grounds for not owning it. If it doesn't even function, why buy it?

Rubber on the ED-209 deteriorates and that's not because it's a moving part, it's because of the material. So if you've got RoboCop, there's no reason not to pose him. If you're terrified to do it, save your money and pass on the fig I reckon :)

Agreed. Even if you're worried about the body (HT Leonidas is an example), you can still make them look good with a little posing.

Well sir I'm not a mechanic so I have never worked on a car, and if everyone could do it they wouldn't need KC on Fast and Loud (tv show) to just do the paint if everyone could do it, just like he can't do the mechanics on cars, it takes a artist, which is beyond my basic high school art skills so yeah it might take magic, other wise I'm sure it wont blend together, not everyone is as talented as you :monkey3

Why does it matter what color it is if you aren't ever going to open yours up anyway?:huh

Why I oughta... :thwak

Relax, got my screwdriver set and N type batteries today.

I don't think anyone's disagreeing that this isn't the best Robocop figure ever made. And we've all read the "Prototype shown, final product may be slightly different" disclaimer. But generally speaking, for about the past 4 years Hot Toys has been very good at delivering product that comes very close to the prototype originally shown; as in, without comparing the two side by side it would be very difficult to spot the differences (apart from when the headsculpts sometimes come out soft). But, I don't recall Hot Toys ever showing a prototype that was one color and shipping product that was a different color before (someone correct me if I'm wrong there).

They don't just send the prototype over to the factory and see what comes out the other end 12 months later; as I understand it, the artists, painters and sculptors work with the factory to ensure their work comes across as much as possible in the final product. They'll do tests, create new paint techniques if need-be, etc. That's part of why these things take so damn long to actually release after announcement. Which is why it surprises me that the Hot Toys team took a look at the chrome Robocop production tests and said, "yup that'll do, ship 'em!". And it's not a case of ignorance on their part;we know they know what color it's supposed to be because they nailed it with the prototype.

A year? Try 530 days ago :impatient::crying

:exactly: :goodpost:

Yep got my notice to be shipped the 25th but since I am getting married on the 29th and leaving for the US on the 1st December I will be passing by it in the air LOL. Oh well Just means I will now have this, ThreeA Titan & MP Bumblebee to open when I get back in January :)

Congrats, man! On everything! :duff

Which amounts to the same thing. I mean, who buys a figure to occasionally pose it but always return it to having no joints bent by default? Defeats the object surely? :)

I need to stop feeding you. Really, I do. Serves me right, I guess.

Got mine in from Sideshow!! Seems like I'm the last of the lucky few who was able to get one of the first shipment... Anyway, I quite like him. I'm a TAD disappointed in his sun tan. But other than that(and that isn't even a huge deal), he's great. And yeah, he is a bit sliver. He matched up quite nicely with the endo stood up next to him. But BOY is he a far cry from the Ultra Police figure that I had as a kid. So overall I couldn't be happier, even though my setup isn't as fancy as many of you guys' on here.

Great pic, buddy! I had the Ultra Police figure too! Like night and day.

Still no idea where mine is, at all. I'm sure it will come at some point, the excitement has died down a lot now though.

The McFarlane figure was my first ever Robocop. I was hugely excited to get it because of that but even then it left a little to be desired. I wasn't (and still amn't) an expert on Robocop accuracy but even I could tell that the chest was the wrong shape, so was the head and the shoulders didn't go up anywhere near high enough.

A scenario..... If everyone said WTF to the paint and limited Diecast, packed up their figures and returned them do you think it would force HT's to provided a explanation to their decision on the colour? Do you think after spending $300 we are entitled to more insight of the production details? Seems that's we are happy of what we are receiving but with a Astirics!

:lol

That's never gunna happen, most people myself included love this piece, I think they did a very nice job with the paint, its not perfect but nothing is in this hobby, its a beautiful figure, FOTY IMO. It can take on a different look depending on your lighting, I'm far from a master photographer and I think I pulled off a couple of nice photos to show off the look you can achieve with colored detolf LEDS, I know that shouldn't be a requirement to own the figure but even in normal light you can see the colors in the paint.

Couple of my crappy shots in different light

Congrats on your marriage! :hi5:

Awesome pics, I can understand the frustration with an imperfect paint job, but this truly is a great robo
I'm leaning towards hot toys as having a better robo figure than the enterbay version
