I could go over to the EB thread right now and find several Freaks ardently defend it and even champion its superiority (even though they're wrong). It goes both ways.

Opinions are like .........

You will find them saying what Robocop they prefer but you won't see them dumping on the other one. There's a difference there.

Me saying I prefer the EB version is not me sayin the HT one is crap....which is what your are doing.

Exactly.

:slap

Why do I need to own a BurkeCop to know I don't want it? Sorry, try again.

The only thing EB does better, and it's marginal, is paint on the armor and the skin. HT beats it in just about every other category.

No it doesnt but hey if that works for you, fine.
Marginal, the paint on armor and skin? Hummm not sure but cool.
Enjoy the one you have.
I have both and they are both a blast.

No one said you had to buy anything but objctively if one want to judge something its usually better to have it in hand.
That is all all im saying :)

If I had the money, I would have the Hot Toys one too as it's flippen cool and it over all better made. I just feel the EB one has better likeness, colour and proportions. Plus it's huge!! :)

What was that about "lesser tastes," hmmm?

I've said, more than once, that the EB paint job is, slightly, better than the HT. But my diplomacy extends only so far. I can't overlook that humongous "RoboCop 3" emblazoned on that big-ass box. Sorry, can't do it.

I have no interest in dropping $400+ on EB's offering. Burke head? Nope. Gun arm? Nyet. Jet pack? You've got to be kidding me.

Where else does EB trump HT, please, enlighten me. Articulation? Build quality?

Honest question, not trolling...how much do you EB owners want to bet that Bill never told MGM that it was going to sneak in some PW mouthplates and sound effects?

What's more damning - that they did or that MGM/HT doesn't apparently think too much of EB that they haven't pursued legal action?

yeah, and I may have not given its articulation enough credit
I actually preferred it to the ht version last night it equal poses
But, there are a lot of poses the eb version just can't hot that are iconic for me

But then again why have EB not produced or even announced any more Movie-based figures. What's going on there.

One more for the road, fellas. When the set below arrives, in about a year's time, there will be no more friendly "competition." Hot Toys wins. Enterbay loses. Thanks for playing. :lol

Well all I can say is I'm more then happy with what I got and that's what its all about, as long as everyone is happy with there purchase then there's no reason to get bent over which is better. The package Hot toys produced is epic, two looks, 4 mouth plates, the docking chair diecast Robocop with sound clips from the film in the scale I prefer.

This is what's on my shelf and I love it, can't wait to add the robo-murphy two pack to my collection

Why one would care about this?
Seriously?
I have i big freaking 1/4 robocop that looks and talk like PW.
On a sidenote i also do not care for Robocop 3 but am not that much obsessed to not look past the packaging.
To me the Burke Head and jetpack look great on their own as work of art.
But as i did not really discovered Robocop 3 years after its release it might not be as painfull as it was for others.

I think im more exited to get a Murphy cop that the bd robo.
Always loved that helmet and gear.

Because properties matter. Because licenses matter. Because the RoboCop 3 license was cheaper to obtain than RoboCop's. But that didn't stop Bill, now, did it?

That Enterbay chooses to act this way - dishonestly and unprofessionally - may be one of the reasons why it's on life support.

I don't think anyone cares if you feel like dropping $400 on that fig man. No one is actually telling you to do it.

Some others (like myself) prefer the EB one. Big deal. We have been very vocal about how great the HT one is, without putting down anybody for their decision. We just prefer the EB one. Much like many prefer the EB T-2 BD Arnie.

We still contribute to this thread in a positive way, as there's nothing bad about this figure as far as I'm concerned.

Who cares if Bill went through the proper channels either? **** MGM. Seriously.

But the whole HT is better and the other one is crap is really immature. It really is, specially when we know is not true. Both are excellent representations of the Robocop we loved growing up (some of you were actually adults back then, but whatever).

Everybody wins.

I don't see how their can be any real competition anyway, they are completely different scales. I would argue though that at 1/4 and $200-$300 more, the EB should look a lot better than the 1/6 HT. Kinda like how their 1/4 Begins Bats smokes the 1/6 HT version.:dunno

I think some of you are building strawmen. I never said the EB figure was crap. RoboCop 3 is crap. I believe it to be an inferior product, that's all. Why would I want to drop $400+ on it? Why should I?

olbertfrog insists that I cannot hold such an opinion without owning the figure. I would contend that I can, having read about shoddy QC issues - like fall-away hands and the shoddy feel of the piece - from EB owners THEMSELVES.

Go tell that to all the folks who are over the flippen moon with their 'Dredd' figure and see what happens. ;)

Or the thousands of Joker made:

Sculpts
Socks
Watches
Gloves
More head sculpts
And more head sculpts
And even more head sculpts
Kato

Screw licenses. People do what they want. At least EB does it in a sneaky way.
