You do realize the majority of people buy these toys BASED SOLEY ON THE PHOTOS, right??? Because that is pretty much the only basis to make a decision off of.

This isn't like any other product, like say a TV or car, where you can head on down to your local store to check out in-person so you can decide before you buy. For the vast majority of collectors the photos are the only means to make that call. Outside of Asia, there are no Toy Sapiens or Secret Bases or whatever.

Yup, exactly.

I still think the Evans HS is subpar.

I’m throwing this question to every collector that has collected EVERY CAP figure to date;

HOW MANY HT CHRIS EVANS HS DO YOU OWN? And do you honestly believe it looks exactly like him??

I can’t imagine many saying yes, because of all the Evans HS, 90% percent of the time are REISSUED. THE REMAINING 10% are like...IW Evans and now this.

I mean, I get that people enjoy cap, I did too. I own FA, WS, and CW cap.

But I have never ever liked the Evans HS that came with WS and CW.

And whoever says “it’s fine” is lying to themself and whoever says EG Evans HS is “an improvement”...remember how many caps are available and for this HS to be a mere “improvement”...like, no offense, that’s a joke.

I can’t comment on that fig, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there were people that would fight tooth and nail with you to say “you’re wrong.”

Mind boggling if you asked me.

That's fine, people can say I'm wrong but how many valid points can a guy make. Aside from the obvious (headsculpt) there's the shoulder issue, hip/thigh issue, scrawny legs, inaccurate paint job, small helmet, no lights on the refocuser which is ridiculous. Light up features have become a staple for iron man figures. People can argue but it's like me saying water's wet and they say no it's not. It's like HT half assed that iron man and said who cares, it's iron man and they'll buy what we tell them to. Let's hold them to a higher standard our money deserves.
I agree with gmoney5000 there are issues with EG Cap but at least there are improvements from the prototype.

I don?t agree with this man. When you have photos professionally taken with the BEST lighting along with older figures to compare and if the figure still looks off, I mean, that?s gotta be some black magic at work for the fig to suddenly look ?good? in hand.

When pics are taken of the fig right out of the box, with crappy lighting and goofy pose, yeah, I can see your point.

But this figure? Once again, considering it?s HT 2nd most milked figure...having people be THIS divisive over this release says A LOT about its ?quality?.
True about the quality images to compare figures in, but we've seen many figures that aren't given much attention to detail and are still seen as great figures. It depends on you the individual if the figure is good or not, also I don't think this is the second milked character as they released him based on looks from a film. Only one that was done outside of the films is concept art cap. But yeah sometimes photos can hide a figures potential. But I got some other images I found were it looks good so it depends on what you see in pic vs in hand.

These are some photos that give it a better light. But I actually think this video does a better job showing the quality. 144668162_10157800139717344_2824382308662587416_o.jpg144638705_10157800139512344_191902171715029651_o.jpg144951851_10157800141587344_5859583408705933723_o.jpg145382152_10157800150062344_9213314290866588570_o.jpg144649093_10157800154212344_9115058344710662426_o.jpg145086849_10157800154552344_3028861240921029117_o.jpg

Figure is great except for the small masked head and the puffy chest piece.

I think he looks more proportional with the unmasked head on. Though I would never want to display him that way.

The perfect Cap would be a mix of Civil War and Endgame HT Caps.
It's funny I was just thinking can the Endgame faceplates fit on the CW masked head?

When you see the full body, it's clear they went with a bit more of a comic style proportions. Normal humans are seven heads, superhero proportions are nine heads. It makes sense to me that instead of making the body bigger to give proportion to the older head(Which wasn't a perfect likeness anyway, they fractionally reduced the head to make the body seem more bulky).
I'm loving it. Possibly the best Cap so far, and a great muscular look, even though they haven't done much to the body, instead achieving the larger look by reducing the helmeted head.
I have a stack of TWS helmeted heads if anyone needs to pick up the previous head to mitigate the helmet problem(I don't see it as a problem, but everyone else seems to).

Let's all just wait and see if hot toys releases the inevitable battle damaged version of this figure as a summer exclusive. 🤣

That's an interesting and good way to look at it! I think this figure turned out good in my opinion, may have to nab one. I'm pleased with the AoU and CW Caps (really like the Concept Art figure too) but this one's looking great. Are you going to be getting this one as well? :)

Thanks. I did make a post about it a few posts back, but it's been lost to posterity, lol.
I have owned all the HT Cap figures. Every one has seemed slightly less muscular looking than Evans looks in the movies. I've never had a problem with it, but they have never "looked right" to me. This one looks perfect. I fully understand the helmeted head might seem smaller, also that his "sculpted" hair would flatten in his lid, but it's all about recreating that hench, muscular look. I have seen nothing in these posted images that makes me think the figure won't be anything less than the best Cap so far. Broad, muscular chest, and smallish head, to emphasize his massive physique. The pics posted in the thread so far are incredible.

This past year, i have had to sell off almost all my HT figures to survive the economic climate(My Cap collection were my most prized items, and even they had to go to pay bills). I could put him on Flexpay with SS. But i doubt it. Don't get me wrong, i believe this is the definitive Cap look. I just feel it would be selfish of me to buy something so expensive when there are other ways i could spend the money. Maybe one day i could pick him up.
I still have tears streaming down my face watching the scene where Thanos and his horde are heading for Steve and Sam comes through on the radio. "On your left". That score... And the look of relief on Cap's face when the portals open up. It gives me shivers just writing about it. If i could swing just one figure this year, this would be the one.

The Iron Man helmet in that figure is actually the same size as the Mark 7. Problem is if they're going to keep making the human sculpts bigger (except Cap apparently) then it 'becomes' too small..unless you're saying the helmets are too small anyway..

Hmmm. I dunno, it looks decent by itself - I still think the traps could be more prominent and the shoulder pads less bulky - more integrated into the material of the arms as I think Wor Gar said. I just wonder what it'll look like standing next to other figures if they're shrinking Captain America's heads whilst - in the current general trend - making other figures' heads bigger. Were previous Cap figures known to be oversized in the head department by any chance?

I think shortening the face actually did improve the likeness but I feel they should have enlarged the overall head at the same time.

This is the best looking Cap to date and yet it’s getting the most hate I’ve seen for a cap figure:slap

In a really wacky way that I can?t explain the smaller head in that video for some odd reason actually makes him look tougher

Maybe because it allows his body to do the talking

His larger head on the other figure almost takes something away from the body even though it?s proportionately more accurate

I don?t know I kind of like the smaller head lol

Seriously something is there that seems to work for me with the smaller head because it?s not so small that it looks ridiculous and ruins the figure but small enough to make him look like a bad ***

Crazy I know :slap

Or i’m just trying to justify my wallet being lighter lol

I don't understand, either.

I mean, people have different personal preferences. Nothing wrong if one likes it, and nothing wrong if one dislikes it.

Factual critics are always welcome.

But really interessting that one can get that emotional expressing their feelings (@gmoney :wink1:).

I'm not hearing any comments about the unmasked head being too small. Is there a side by side of them together anywhere?
