Yeah. That’s a great nod. I also like Black Panther saying “Clint! Give it to me.”

A bit of a contrast to saying, “I don’t care.” in Civil War when Hawkeye introduces himself haha

Yep exactly like that. I'm fully expecting "he does care" memes when some high quality shots of that moment come out :lol

I've watched it 4 times now and I heard:

Steve: "Tony, I don't know"
Tony: "Why? He made it for you. Plus, honestly I have to get it out of the garage before Morgan takes it sledding"

I said it would be cool if the scratches were still there because It never once occurred to me that it could be a new shield Tony made and not the same shield he took at the end of CW because that makes no sense. I guess we'll just have to wait until we get subtitles to find out for sure.

The screener is subtitled

Eh, that's just lazy writing, but to tie it back to the Cap shield scratch argument, these movies can be very inconsistent in their physics and everything, so it's really a moot point to debate the specifics lol.

One of the big theories in the past two years is that Tony's nanotech suit is made from the same stuff that Black Panther's suit is made of, implying there is some sort of communication and trade between Tony and Black Panther in Wakanda. If that is the case, getting a small amount of vibranium to fill in the scratches in the shield should have been no problem.

Tony is a guy that obviously likes to tinker and work with his hands in his spare time. Look at all the 35+ Iron Man armors he built in the year after the Avengers, most with only marginal upgrades over previous versions. It only makes sense that he took a spare afternoon somewhere to fix up Cap's shield (and probably even build him a new uniform) incase they ever worked things out.

There are a bunch of possibilities. Maybe he recast the shield. Maybe he filled in the scratches. Maybe they were just superficial and he worked them out. All are equally likely and make sense, and either way it isn't that weird for someone to refer to an old refurbished item as being "new".

When platinum scratches, it usually doesn’t lose much if any actual material, the metal’s surface gets moved around, compared to others where material is more easily abraded off.

Not sure how the MCU techs work a fictional metal like Vibranium but I assume those scratches were just buffed out or the space-magical equivalent thereof.

The shield scratch thing is very simple to explain: Capt said the to crew.... Dude clean the shield for my next shoot. Lol

I'm looking for a Hot Toys Thor's Hammer for my CW Captain right now; with no luck.

finally revealed

While I am a huge fan of the suit, and the accessories, I'm still bugged by the size of the chest piece. It is still too large, and hangs over the midsection. It shouldn't cover it at all, they should be stitched together like this Civil War outfit captain-america-figure_0-632x450.jpg

After seeing the movie I am soooo surprised... NOT! Seriously though, it’s what’s necessary for most people and I’m personally looking forward to the broken shield, but after collecting HT’s for over 7 years, I do have plenty of Mjölnir’s (maybe they will be generous and include the lightup plastic with lightning effect and a diecast one in the package) RIIIIIIIIGHT :wink1:

Hopefully that quantum suit Steve will include the briefcase!

Good discussion going on in the Mk. LXXXV thread about the fact that a truly movie accurate accessory for Tony “wearing the stones” would have to be a swap out arm or at least forearm like the “lobster claw/Drax Cannon” on the Mk. L.

Got the IW Thor on order, still considering this one. But I think I'd still just display this with the regular shield, and if we don't see an EG Thor, using Mjolnir with Thor having both weapons.

i think we all knew the broken shield & mjolnir would be the secret accessories...but finally seeing them with the figure gets me damn excited!!!!

Def posing my Cap in a similar position here. Especially displaying with Thanos chopping down with his sword onto top of the shield.

Man if they are gonna give us a cracked shield, they can at least make the whole one clean 😡

I wonder if they'll add the other half of the broken shield? I know we don't see it after it breaks off but I think it would be cool to have to display together.

If I recall, I don’t think it broke cleanly in half; it broke off in pieces, as Thanos gave it a few whacks.
