Do you have an original 12” Kenner fig to display it with?

No but the original 12 inch Kenner Fett was literally *the* first 1/6 scale figure I ever played with so this look is pretty much the starting point of this entire hobby for me.

Pics of the actual preproduction fett armor before it was the iconic one we saw in ESB. Love how Hot toys decided to include them, an homage to the history of the character! As a fett fan I need that deluxe!

By no means am I claiming that the Hot Toys one isn't better than my Sideshow one, BUT I have been pretty happy with it and have a hard time justifying paying for a new one even if it is "improved" a bit; even so SS Fett still looks great. However, I will say the deluxe version is a bit more tempting because I always just imagined this was just a version of Fett on some other adventure and he regularly swapped out his armor pieces with slightly different ones (taking into account the differences with ROTJ too). But, it still likely won't be enough to tempt me to replace my SS Fett; but if I did I think I would get the deluxe.

It's not like he has big arms either - he's not a big guy at all.

I wonder if the jet pack missile has articulated spoke hook blades. It kinda looks like they can be pulled out.

The flightsuit is really badly futzed, too. Below the waist it looks really baggy. Looks like a figure of a cosplayer.

I truly think this deluxe release and regular is better than their ROTJ one. But each to their own, I guess. Gauntlets are also a winner here since they are not as bland as their last release of Boba.

already bought and paid for. only have two other SW figures (amongst a 1/6 collection), and i'm not that much of a boba fan, but i love the whole concept of the costume fitting get-up. really hope they tweak the helmet and close crop the flight suit better. its recognizeable as fett, but it is not 100% him.

I wouldn't call it hate as much as critique. Fett always gets scrutinized because of his following. And because of the complexity of his costume there is a lot to scrutinize.

The helmet is always the jump off point. But then you get into armor shape and color, flight suit color, proportions, neck length, jet packs, capes, footwear, etc

Sometimes I wonder if HT releases slightly inaccurate versions of figures planning to update later on and make you want to buy again.
ANH Vader's gloves are an example as is the helmet on ROTJ Boba.

It’s a great release, no doubt. I would be fully onboard as this is my preferred version of Boba. But that damn helmet.

The figure looks a little heavy but still looks good. I do prefer the ROTJ look though

The Deluxe is a no brainer. $32 for those extra parts. Of course in the old days this would have been a DX with 2 full figures like Luke.

Write Hot Toys and insist that they fix it. If enough people say something, they just might. They certainly have before.

Man, I'm looking at my ROTJ Bobba Fett right now and though I like it. Honestly it represents the character as well as I could hope for... I still wish I would have waited two months to just pre order this one instead of snagging a pre owned regular edition off eBay. Though after a few weeks I probably won't care anymore and will just be content with what I have. But in my defense, I had no idea this was coming.
