Why should anyone have to modify their figures to look accurate though? At this kind of price the figures should almost perfect.

There's no point in making a new sculpt if they don't get it right.

I understand where you're coming from, but I think you can look at this new one and make an argument that it meets the "almost perfect" standard that you're asking for. At least HT was willing to use energy, effort, and cost to make a new helmet instead of just re-using the ROTJ one. And if perfection is the standard, I can assure you that no other 1/6 Boba helmet has achieved that. So, if it were easier to achieve, HT would have done it. The fact that they bothered to make a new helmet at all shows that they're trying to do it right; it at least shows some effort. Perfection is just elusive.

Huh. Aside from height of the range finder and the width of the ear piece, the side profile of the ROTJ helmet is actually a lot closer.

Look at the red ridge under the "eye" part of the visor; the ROTJ one narrows too much. The ridge in the back is also a bit too pronounced on the ROTJ helmet. And, as others have pointed out, the new ESB helmet flares out a bit more (which is a key attribute).

I'm not asking for perfection but they should be as spot on as possible. From the front, the most important angle, this sculpt misses the mark by quite a bit and that is undeniable and inexcusable at this price point. Especially when they state "An authentic and detailed likeness of Boba Fett in Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back" in their product description.

Am I the only person who noticed that the one triangle above the visor on the ESB helmet isn't fully formed? It's weird.

Thank you for posting those pics, Robianco. The profile shot is particularly helpful. Here it is with a couple of movie images for comparison. The movie helmet has a more acute angle at the chin, and some curvature along the bottom, but those are things that can be modified a little with light sanding for anyone who's going for ultimate accuracy. I applaud HT for not just re-using the same helmet sculpt. They could have taken that easy route and still sold a ton. Way to go, HT! :clap

Thanks for sharing. The screen capture are a "bang on lock” with the ROTJ Helmet. Differences are clearly visible with ESB.

Could just be the slightly different angle, but the profile shot shows that the original helmet was flatter in the front. The Hot Toys helmet looks too elongated in that profile comparison.

Still not feeling the helmet or the proportions on the body, both of which were the main flaws with the ROTJ. Where's Rubio when you need him? we need him to chime in a bit on the colors and shape anything else his expertise can shine a light on.

Although I have no interest in the Deluxe Fett, I do like the photography of the prototype. It does look like someone in a suit. The proto does not translate as well on the Regular. Hoping in the end the Reg proportions are the same.

**** green/blue and red gauntlets. I want the very first Boba Fett with the brown gloves and ketchup/mustard gauntlets.

Wow, Hot Toys made this just for me! I've been asking for this Fett since Day 1. The mando eyes are awesome! Could use the blue jump suit, but I digress. I'm gonna display it by the 2004 OT collection vintage box!

Hmmm, um, yeah. About $270 buckeroos?

**** that ****. These ***holes are crazy. I mean jeez, I'm out of dolly collecting for a little while and these companies get these delusions of grandeur.

If kghobby shipping is free and theres not customs fees then those prices are a steal
You can ask that they help avoid any fees like Timcent does by low valuing it and had 2 figures from him with no problems. I've Anakin and ROTJ Luke on pre order from KG so will have to wait and see.

I'll wait and see what loontentoys and wzlucky put up on ebay first. I see that KG charge for shipping but still a very good price. All my current POs are with SS on plans because I don't want to pay for a handful of figures all that once.
