Nice pics! Can’t wait to get this figure in hand. By the way does the jumpsuit on this one have more of a blue hue compared to the ROTJ version? It looks like it does.

Definitely looks more blue in hand , allthough I think could be a tad more china blue. Pictures make it more greysih .

Also the suit is alot darker than the ROTJ Version .

The knee pads are darker too .

Having first appeared in a parade in 1978, followed a couple of months later in the Holiday Special, it was easy back then to forget exactly what Fett looked like. Before all the prepro promotional images, the Fett mail away prototype was what I clung to with anticipation visually.

As much as I wanted it, my parents didn’t help me with the whole mail away thing. I don’t think they grasped my obsession, and thought I was just in it for the novelty of getting something in the mail. Luckily, one of my friends, living down the street, had just received it...wasn’t thrilled and I traded him 2 matchbox cars for it, box and all. I’m still thrilled about that trade.

I actually got him through the mail away and when I finally got him, I kept trying to make the rocket fire. I could see that the missle was not molded into the jet pack so I was convinced it could fire and I just wasn’t figuring out how. I kept looking at the image on the card back to see if there was some clue as to how to fire it.

I was also a little sad when he was finally released for real and I had missed out on the cool graphic!

After getting lost in the mail and a whole lot of pain, I finally got him. He looks even better in hand. I am also in the progress of converting my old ssc with the preprod parts.

is the plastic on the range finder pretty flimsy and fragile? I fear if the toy falls from standing the antenna will just snap.

The HT rangefinders are pretty thin plastic, it probably wouldn't take too much to snap. Definitely us a stand with this guy if you're in earthquake territory, or have small kids lol

Yeah...when I look at some of the best Dented Helmet/501st builds, the colors look like the Hot Toys figure. My brain still sees Fett colors through whatever filter/lighting was used in the film.
And...I agree with everything you’ve said about the helmet’s accuracy. They fixed some things for the better (for sure), but invented some new inaccuracies. Go figure. It baffles me.

The helmet is a strange one...when viewed from below or dead center it can look great....but at other angles it's way off..

Looks better...I was wondering when someone was going to do that.
I just can’t afford these figures anymore...so I dumped my reward points I’d been saving for years on the deluxe Fett. With all of the possible combinations, and the inner fight between my ocd for accuracy vs. what looks cool, I’m not sure what I’m going to be doing with the figure, lol.

No the hands are still stock HT...but i still need to dull coat them.
It's funny...despite my initial reaction of both horror and disappointment at how wrong they got the helmet shape again!(adding to that all the other little inaccuracies)....Once posed up upon the shelf...and under the right lighting....it shines and looks like a wee scaled down Empire fett
