Has anyone ever noticed there's moments where Boba's cape isn't attached to one of those square pieces? Like it's just stuffed behind the jetpack or something. It's like that in the ANH Jabba scene and switches back and forth from attached to not attached in the sail barge scene.

Even before any of the special editions, there were some fun inconsistencies. The ESB stunt helmet even makes an appearance in ROTJ, making the ‘special edition’ look somewhat valid.

Oh yeah, why we ended up getting more than a few Jedi Fett figures with the Empire helmet - even the Battlefront look has it.

I REALLY want to get the SS prototype figure now..but it goes back to the whole "I'll just wait for the HT version" thing. Shoulda, coulda, woulda's - but I bet it'll be revealed next year. Just like the animated figure, it'll definitely be a simple repaint (using the PP helmet).

For those interested...here's a comparison of the different Helmets and Jetpack's.

When it comes to accuracy of the helmet...for me Medicom is still the closest..

I knew the HT jet pack was small, but didn’t think it’d be smaller than medicom’s. It’s also interesting how close the HT prepro helmet color is to Medi’s.
Also...with those jet packs, it’s interesting to note the 3 totally different shades of color.

For those who are going to use the SS fett for the PRO 1 gear....there a few small modifications needed to make so that everything fits.

The stock neck joint is a little long so needs swapping out for a shorter standard TT version.

The little silver peg on the SS cape is glued in place but is easy enough to remove by first heating it up and then prying it out. You can then clip in the HT cape.

New clips are also needed on the SS backplate in order for the HT Jetpack to fit.

The ammo belt is the easiest mod to do...the small pouches are held down with glue so they're easy to remove and then realign to the center of the belt.
I also used a sachet of Dylon china blue hand dye on the SS flight suit.

Thank you so much for posting these pics, matrix69! Incredibly helpful reference material here. Outstanding!! :clap

If I could only choose one helmet, I'd take the new HT one since it has the most going for it. But, I think what the Medicom sculptor(s) understood better than the others is the arch of the visor. It affects the entire front half of the helmet, and how it looks from most angles. The shots you took from a bit overhead are the most helpful ones I've seen yet that best illustrate my point.

The visor "eye" part has a curve that extends too far and makes it too rounded on every helmet except the Medicom. That makes the whole helmet shape look wrong, especially from the profile angle. I took a couple of the HT helmet shots from your photo and put them next to similar shots from movie Fett pics. If you pay attention to the arch of the visor in the top (overhead) comparison, you'll see why the whole front half of the helmet looks off in the bottom (profile) comparison. It affects the shape by extending the front half too far forward. That changes the "cheeks" too.

And, yeah, that range finder is still too damn long. :lol

Thanks again, matrix!!

With so much reference material now available HT should have done a lot better on getting the shape of the helmet right...it could have been close to perfect..
Then again maybe they've got the perfect 1/6 3D printed proto helmet locked away and ready for unleashing in a few years time:)

I was just coming to terms with the inaccuracies, but all this talk is making me disappointed again. :lol
You're probably right though, there's almost certainly a re-released slated in the next ten years. Who knows, by then for $600 maybe they'll make the armor die-cast.

Really too bad that they didn't base the color scheme for the helmet and armor on the pre-production helmet color they went with. Might be the best out of all of those. Thanks for the comparisons, matrix!

Just need to point out these are two very disparate angles. The rangefinder is too long, yes (a relatively easy fix though if it offends that much), but look where the horizon line is on each (the demarcation of the top of the helmet- below the HL on the HT and above the HL on the studio photo).
Not saying the HT isn't off, just that it may not be as radical as far people might think from this comparison.

Of course we are talking about obsessed fans, so radical is a YMMV situation I guess.

Yeah, great pics, Matrix - thanks for posting.

The new Ht does look the best overall. The Medi looks good shape and color-wise but the lower half seems slightly foreshortened vertically and it still has that 10-20% undersized issue.

Yeah, ever since I saw that first Asian video, that prepro color has jumped out as looking great. Oh well.:lol
