Just as long as you use a lacquer spray, it won't matter what kind of plastic. Just stay away from enamels. Lacquers and acrylics won't give you problems. I use testors and model masters matte or dull coat just because theyre readily available at Michaels and Hobby Lobby.
Wow, had no idea you could use lacquer sprays like Tamiya on rubbery parts. I assumed it would be sticky city after a few weeks.
I use Humbrol acrylic varnish...but other brands should work just as well.
One tip for those who have never used varnish before is to make sure that you give the can one hell of a good shakeup...at least 5 to 10 mins..before you apply it...if not you may get a white-frosting effect.
Thanks for the tip. I always wondered why I'd occasionally get the frosty thing. Will do that from now on. The HT gloves are still a somewhat underwhelming sculpt detail-wise, but they look way better without the gloss.
