Just as long as you use a lacquer spray, it won't matter what kind of plastic. Just stay away from enamels. Lacquers and acrylics won't give you problems. I use testors and model masters matte or dull coat just because theyre readily available at Michaels and Hobby Lobby.

Wow, had no idea you could use lacquer sprays like Tamiya on rubbery parts. I assumed it would be sticky city after a few weeks.

I use Humbrol acrylic varnish...but other brands should work just as well.
One tip for those who have never used varnish before is to make sure that you give the can one hell of a good shakeup...at least 5 to 10 mins..before you apply it...if not you may get a white-frosting effect.

Thanks for the tip. I always wondered why I'd occasionally get the frosty thing. Will do that from now on. The HT gloves are still a somewhat underwhelming sculpt detail-wise, but they look way better without the gloss.

Thanks, yeah i was always leaning towards the more colorful Jedi version but this ESB release has won me over.

Definitely holding onto him. He's what got me into this crazy 1/6 collecting. Been one of my favorites since day one but the proportions on the recent release are much better.

Yeah, I actually just bought the ROTJ gauntlets for my empire figure, as I dig the more colorful parts, so I can mix it up once in a while.

Only real complaint was that the ROTJ came out a bit too olive. Even the ESB seems like if the helmet and chest armor were a bit more faded (or grayish blue) it would look even more straight out of the movie for me.

Exactly. The olive color always bugged me as well.

One for all the Fett fans. How awesome is this....

Yeah I also prefer how he looks in ROTJ (with those red gauntlets and more colorful jetpack), but the figure just doesn't look like a good translation to me at all, with its dark coloring and badly shaped helmet. So I'd rather go with the ESB version.

Damn does this guy look good in natural light.

Tried to copy D.R. 37's pose as best I could but the cape has a mind of its own.

Thanks! The chest seems just as puffy — could stand to be a bit flatter but I think the fat suit around the legs seems a little less pronounced. This figure is also helped by the pouches on the side being more in the front, that hide the diaper look and thighs a bit and makes him look better.

But I don’t have the ROTJ to directly compare, as you know. [emoji4]

I did just pick up the ROTJ blaster and other parts today though so I now can make a ROTJ-esque version of this Fett if I want. Curious how it’ll look.

I agree. HT’s color choice on that is a bit odd when comparing screenshots of Fett. Would still like to put a better proportioned bucket on that figure. Maybe repaint and ESB/PrePro helmet sometime.

Siiick. What really happened at the Lars’ BBQ. I loved how they incorporated that Fett encounter in the Vader comics.

Love those shots Ton Ton!

Have now pre ordered mine through Popcultcha. Their current discount on both the regular and deluxe was too good to resist. They still have it down for a Jan 2019 release but hopefully they update to a new date soon.

Cannot wait to get this guy!

:duff Thanks, guys! Finally had a break from work and had fun with the camera this weekend. Still haven’t had a chance to do much with Jedi Luke.

It’s a Nikon DSLR with a 55-200 zoom lens. Standing far enough where I can get the whole figure and more while zoomed out and then the close shoots are just me working the zoom.

Seeing him outside makes me really want to redo the lighting in my shelves. My top down dioder lighting doesn’t do him justice at all.

So much contempt for the ROTJ Fett. Even though it's more accurate than this new one..but point is, it's not new lol. Never had any issues with the chest armor colour.

Without any mixing and matching, I would take the Empire Fett if I could only have one figure. But with the research I've done, Jedi Fett is unbiasedly more accurate. After pointing the reasons why, no one has given points to why the Empire one is overall more accurate, or at least equally as flawed.
