1/6 Hot Toys 1/6 Captain Marvel

I haven’t been reading any recent X-Men, I do know Marvel is about to do a serious change with them. Jonathan Hickman is taking over for the next few years. Marvel is building a lot of hype around it.
Also if you like the cosmic stuff the recent Guardians Of The Galaxy run with much needed Silver Surfer Black that ties into are both really good books. Donny Cates has been on a tear.

I've probably been away from comics now for about 8 months, things started getting in the way & I kinda dropped off from going to my LCS
I did want to get the Asgardians of the Galaxy books but never did
I want more Beta Ray Bill in my Cosmic Marvel if I'm totally honest

I’ve only been back into them myself the last couple
Of years. I was reading a lot of DC when they launched rebirth. So many good books at the time. Now Marvel seems to be coming with the better books. I read asgardians Of The galaxy. It was only ok. I’m a big beta ray bill fan too. If you are, definitely check out Guardians of the galaxy then. He’s part of the new team. Pick up issue 1 and see what you think.

Yeah Beta Ray is probably my fave Marvel character, I actually managed to fufil a dream last year & find a grail piece for my collection in the form of Bowen's Beta Ray Bill statue for around his original retail price (£200)
I was over the moon

Ohh I love that statue. I want Beta in the MCU sooo bad.
It seems like to me once Bendis left Marvel it turned around. That’s when I got on board. Then around the same time when Bendis went to DC I felt they started to slip. I read a bunch of New 52, I liked it l, many didn’t tho.

Yeah it's an awesome statue, trying to locate a Thor one now to go with him which is proving pretty difficult for a reasonable price
Oh I'd love him to get into the MCU, who knows maybe they will get him into a future GotG movie?

I don't think Bendis is genius so many seem to make him out to be
I enjoyed the New 52 a lot & I have the full run of Justice League & Green lantern titles from the New 52

Think after Rebirth I started to dwindle & now I'll start looking more at Marvel again

Yeah I've always been a huge fan of Cosmic Marvel in general & finally seeing Captain Marvel get her own film & quality figures is awesome.
Would you believe that I haven't actually seen the film yet!
Long boring story as to why but I don't get to the cinema at all these days so waiting for home release...I've been able to avoid all spoilers so far too
Anyway she is probably my most anticipated arrival this year

Yeah not fun but it also had a knock on effect in that because I hadn't seen Captain Marvel I also didn't go to see Endgame in case I had to know stuff from Cap Marvel first.
So now I'm waiting on a home release for that before I can see it as well
Avoiding spoilers has been almost impossible...but I've managed so far (even with far from home trailers on telly every 5 minutes...I obviously know some details but not how they come to be etc.)

Hey Soundwave, I'm sure you're already aware but you MUST avoid the Bluray advertisements also because they show the ACTUAL end of the movie in the trailer. Which is a complete and utter misstep for those who haven't yet seen it. Luckily I went and saw it ASAP before anyone spoiled it for me. Good luck

RE: Captain Marvel, I know I've asked earlier for your thoughts (the forum) but what are the chances of an Endgame variant? is it worth waiting for that possibility or just grab this while you can.

I’d say the chances of an EG version should slim as HT has a lot to do during this MCU lull, like STAR WARS! Oh and get on top of that Vulture figure! But in the end, who knows. Better to have a bird in the hand instead of guessing on HT.

That’s pretty subjective if you ask me. I always buy the deluxe, even if I won’t use the extra accessories, but me and my bro are crazy that way

I don't often go for the deluxes myself, but in this case I really love the look of her in the bomber jacket so I had to get that. Don't really care about Goose since CM herself didn't seem to care much for him in the movie.

Yeah to be honest I'm kind of leaning toward this way of thinking myself. I preferred her outfit (the brief CGI parts we saw of it anyway) in Endgame and kind of feel that's her definitive look in the next movie given Endgame is so far into the future from her solo outing (the outfit is outdated at least). It's definitely a thinker, but as you say .. if you sit on something too long, it's gone and you miss out. Especially Hot Toys stuff, and more so if you're not US/HK based due to customs charges on eBay.

I fully expect that her EG look is what we’ll see her in her next solo flick. Even if they change it, HT will do a movie promo at that time with the short hair to hype the film. That’s what I think is the LIKELY scenario, but who knows.
Like someone said earlier, the bomber jacket is a really good “nice to have” since that’s more fan service paid in the movie than any thing else.
