I thought I snagged the last one two weeks ago as after I placed order she went out of stock!! Anyways I'm having second thoughts about her now, after the poor HT Ripley performance compared to opening my BW Peter and Ray and being completely BLOWN AWAY!! I'm having thought of moving my Hoth Leia funds to Hannibal Lector Dolly version. Yes it's way more BUT the overall presentation MIGHT have a greater impact in my collection. Thoughts??
The poor showing by Ripley, at least I think, is a byproduct of a failing aged license. No one wants anything to do with Alien any more - the most recent film installments have largely failed and NECAs efforts feel far more niche than ever before. So while I think it is unfair that Ripley got the treatment she did, I see why it didn't get top production space or capabilities.
I don't believe any of this will apply to Leia because, in short, Star Wars. ANH Leia is long sold out, Leia is still in the forefront as we can tell for the ST films, and ESB is largely regarded as the best SW film. She'll turn out great.
Really, what you need to ask yourself is:
Do I have/need a/another Leia?
Is this my preferred look for Leia?
How much do I like Hoth (there is only one answer to this, choose wisely)?
How much do I prioritize SW in my collection?
Do I want to build up unique licenses and add diversity or diversify a single theme?
Should you overwhelmingly say yes in favor of Leia, then this is the figure for you, I believe. The best thing to do is hold on to that pre-order for now and make a decision once the blogger pics hit.
