Well... it IS expected cause as everyone knows... America is the center of the universe, and everything circles around it.

Won't be long until we get the.. this is an American website, if you don't like it you can get out.

I've been wanting a 哥哥 figure for the longest time. Especially from A Chinese Ghost Story. It'll look wonderful beside my 5 Batman's. 4 Jokers, 10 Ironman's, and 12 Predators.

I'm excited for the M Icons Nude David Carradine with authentic asphyxiation action.

Too often when I'm masturbating with a belt around my neck I catch a glimpse of my action figures and think "Somethings missing."

I wanna see a Fat Bloated Chris Farley ODed laying on his floor figure

Oooh or maybe a Kurt Kobain eating a shotgun for breakfast

Damn the list is endless.

Michael Jackson , all white skeleton with pill bottles

River Pheonix OD DX

I knew this thread would be full of ignorant people who immediately shut down someone's "worth as a figure" basically due to lack of exposure to that person.

Well, for one, I'm not making fun, just seeing the kit bash opportunity in such a nice tux, so I hope my post didn;t come across as such.

I'm a big softy for people getting a figure of something they love, so good on everyone who has wanted/wants this figure.

Seriously leave the trolling and "why don't they do X" to some other thread. And the Asian jokes especially make me feel like this community might still be in the 1800s mentality wise.

:exactly::goodpost:

Yes, this is a pretty miserable read. I don't think I've ever said this before but... the thread could do with a clean up.

Man some really screwed up stuff in this thread... and I agree with lejuan that this thread NEEDS some major cleanups... Really sorry to say this, but the sense of entitlement brings out the worst in some of you guys...

You know what reading all of this I sure feel glad HT pulled the plug on a hell of a lot of lines where you guys invested like The Watchmen and Platoon - and yeah the probable reason why they pulled the plug too is because of the response of those lines in Asia.... YES Asia. It is HTs largest market and HT DOES give a damn about the people who got them where they are and thats why they have releases like these to acknowledge them... Its an Asian company, with Asian artists, with a statistically larger consumer market based in Asia. So deal with it... HT will do what seems logical business wise for them... Just because you dont know something doesnt mean its not worth it for others.

Aren't 99% of HT releases based off of "global-friendly" liscenses? I would agree so.

Given that fact, how is the release of 1 ASIAN POP STAR the reason that we never got more from Suckerpunch, Watchmen, etc.? Wouldn't the reason be because HT choose to release more figures from other , once again, global-friendly (or hell, why not say it, "USA-friendly" since this is primarily a US-centric forum where there appears to be this permeating superiority self entitlement that means that releases on non USA-friendly figures suddenly become idiotic: e.g. City Hunter, The Friend, etc.)?

So then the question becomes, why did HT abandon certain liscenses? Well, the answer is because they chose to, deal with it. As for the occasional non USA-friendly release? Well, HT is a HK company so maybe occasionally they want to do something for their local fan-base?

Some of the hate here is funny.

Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves, posting this way.

You guys are selfish, evil Americans, with no class or respect. How dare you make negative comments about a person you just found out existed the other day.

I am disgusted and disturbed by the insensitivity of this particular thread. How rude, how judgmental. I am truly shocked. Even the mods are in on the action. Awful.

You judge Hot Toys? How dare you. They're an Asian company, catering to the ASIAN people. They don't hold any American licenses, they don't have deals with American companies like Sideshow. You guys are all secondary. Stop it with your cavalier and better than thou attitudes. You U.S. buyers are despicable, what do you think, that you're important consumers? You just pay $300+ for imported dolls, that's not loyalty.

Does that about cover it?

I deleted a handful of comments that were culturally insensitive or could have been perceived as such (and a couple of simply offensive ones). Not that many though. I'm not keen on removing posts reflecting a feeling of entitlement, or simply bashing HT for some reason. If that were the case, we wouldn't have many posts in the Hot Toys sections of the board at all.

To Nova's post, 3,000 is a very small number for a Hot Toys release. Like, lower than convention exclusives low.

I gotta say, some of these posts telling people to be more sensitive are significantly more offensive than the one's bashing this figure. Calling people "selfish, evil americans" and gloating in the fact that Hot Toys cancelled some cult licenses seems incredibly immature and spiteful.

Furthermore, no one has any right to tell another person how to feel. If people don't like the fact that this figure was released over other products, then that is fine and they have every right to express that thought.

Personally I can see their point. Hot Toys announces and then quickly cancels dozens of fan favorite licenses because they do not have enough mass appeal, and then chooses to dedicate their resources to this figure; which even among Asians would have a niche market. Id be mad too. In fact, being a huge fan of BTTF and Tron Legacy, I am kind of annoyed.

Yeah I'm worried I may not get one. At least not at a reasonable price. Given that it's Leslie Cheung and this may be plastered over Chinese newspapers too and it may not be just conventional collectors looking into getting this.

Hot Toys always concurrently works on tons of figures, how again is the cancellation or "stopped work" on all these liscenses exclusively the result of work on this figure?

Tron, Watchmen, Suckerpunch, the list goes on - yes lots of "cancellations" of figures never promised. A liscense announcement doesn't mean they are making every character in the liscense does it?

5000 batmans, predators, and ironmans - maybe they dedicated their resources to these. How again is THIS figure the reason Tron, Watchmen, Suckerpunch, and etc. never made a 2nd or 3rd figure?

That is what I don't get. This figure has nothing to do with the "cancellation" of other past lines because since the "cancellations" Hot Toys has been pumping out a bunch of other "USA-Friendly" figures. Batman, Ironman suits, dios, more predators, avengers, re-releases of Ironman and Predators, anyone? Not as much hate there is there. They are catering to the cash cow. This is a small batch figure for a very niche market. Move on if you aren't in that niche market, stop the bashing, stop the pretending of you know how Hot Toys operates and how they SHOULD operate please.

I'm not saying this as a fan of Leslie Cheung, don't know much about him, but man, I can't stand the reasoning here. HT did not cancel all those liscenses so they could "dedicate resources" on this single Leslie figure ok?
