As much as i understand their position on the TIE fighter, it's kind of disturbing to hear that the Falcon cockpit would also be a show only concept. Why tease this on their site and FB page like any other release and putting it on hold? Does not make much sense to me.

Here is the original post: Hot Toys Falcon Cockpit - Page 3

They are testing the waters with every product shown, as most other companies. Look at EFX or Gentle Giant, these 2 companies both showed many products that never seen the light of day yet, and maybe never will. If there is interest and a way to make them collector affordable, I'm sure HT will make both of them.

Wrong and wrong.

Look at hot toys Facebook. They said they will be doing vehicles. They even have all the promo pics for the falcon. Lol. Go visit Facebook before posting.

Also your hearsay versus the guy over at actionfury who spoke to sideshow guys who said they will sell the tie fighter.

I'll trust this guy who runs a website dedicated to this stuff versus a random poster.

According to member Shadow on Rebelscum the Hot Toys Falcon cockpit and TIE Fighter are prototype concept models built just for this show, these are not confirmed or approved products yet. In essence Hot Toys is testing the waters to see what the reaction will be.

And a video of the TIE:

I have already mentally prepared myself to grab these once the words are out for preorder.:google

Just calm down and take a breath kid. It was not my "hearsaying", read again my posts. We'll all see when/if this will be released, don't be so impatient now, you are here since just a couple months, your willy will fall off if continue to act like this...:peace

Wouldn't a 1/6 Tie-Fighter be human-sized? :lol In any case this looks awesome. It makes me wish I had enough space in my apartment for a display. I think a part of me will be very angry with my limited space when a X-Wing gets released as well...
Just because you can't display them at your current location doesn't mean you should avoid purchasing them. That's assuming you eventually plan to get a bigger place, of course. I am only able to display a fraction of my collection at the moment.

Dude. Just read the first post of the thread. You can read right ? See hot toys post.

Yes. Happy to wait and see who is right.

I don't care who is right, kid. I'll not be getting the TIE, neither the Falcon, just to be clear on this too, OK? I just posted a link for people to see, because IT IS A DISCUSSION FORUM! I'm not here to measure dicks, but you can measure yours all day long from what I care.

And yeah, please go and read again in that link you posted above and show me exactly where it says they will sell it to the public. They say "Hot Toys is raising the bar to bring to the fans some astonishing collectibles of the saga's spacecrafts, and an incredibly detailed prototype of the Falcon's cockpit will make its first appearance at SDCC". This doesn't mean they will sell them as of yet. There are many companies showing protos of items they'd like to make, but in the end they never make them for the public. In the collecting business this happens from time to time. Get it?

And if this will be made in the end, we all win.

I don't see this being priced over $2000.
I don't see it under 2k by much if at all. The bat which is 1/12 scale and even at 1/6 scale is half the size of this was $800. $800 for something 4 times smaller. It's going to be at least double that more like 3 times that considering it SW.

I think its safe to say that until HT officially announces these Star Wars vehicles for sale there's going to be a lot of tension on these forums.

Whatever happens, the TIE Fighter, Millennium Falcon Cockpit and upcoming full 1/6 Falcon have definitely brought some interesting perspectives to light on the notion of HT doing 1/6 SW vehicles. Some people love the idea of them for purchase, some people love the idea of them strictly for cons, and some hate the idea of them altogether.

I personally (obviously) want these to go into production because I feel HT has so much more potential than just 1/6 figures, specially with a line of timeless vehicles like SW. I remember receiving the '89 Batmobile. I had a few friends over who wanted to check it out so the four of us opened it up in my living room together and were just floored with the detail. That unboxing ended with all of us agreeing HT should really do SW vehicles next. I'll buy pretty much any SW vehicle HT decide to sell and I know lots of other people that would too.

I can't agree with anyone who doesn't want these made. I just don't see the logic. If you don't want a 1/6 X-Wing in your living room then don't buy it. Its that simple. If you don't want to spend thousands of dollars on a giant toy - then don't.

Its good to know you plan to keep creating tension. Since you and you lil HT boys noobs are the ones going out of your way to create this tension.

I would love this piece. The 1/6th vehicles are the best! I have a Tumbler and 89 Batmobile and I may get the Delorean and I like this too (But I'm running out of space.....and money)

This is a pretty genius move by Hot Toys. Falcon cockpit and TIE Fighter. Iconic set pieces/ships from the OT that are obviously heavily featured in The Force Awakens. Pretty brilliant to release these two products that appeal to old collectors and anyone caught up in Episode VII hype. Assuming they actually get released of course.

I'm not sure if there are people here who don't want HT to make these, and even if there were don't see how their opinion my influence HT's plans. Plus if person X doesn't like product Y, no one is forcing him to buy it. HT are testing the market, and so far the response was quite positive. People seem interested in both TIE and Falcon

In my case, I'd buy the TIE tomorrow if it were available, but the issue is related to limited space, nowhere to display that huge piece in my house. I think I'd have the budget for it, if it was under $2000, but no space. On the other hand I also own the EFX Collectibles TIE Fighter studio scale which is very accurate, and for me that is a very important issue in collecting. Due to my OT Imperials focus I am not interested in the Falcon, but would never say to HT to avoid making it, in fact the opposite.

Making these diverse lines will also help collectors get what they might want in the future. For me some Imperial dioramas (Star Destroyer, Death Star hall etc.), for others maybe a Bespin dio, Hoth, Tatooine (would love a moisture Vaporator) or a Coruscant one, maybe a landspeeder or a PT airspeeder/speederbike, not to mention TFA products, who knows. These are high end collectibles, made for and bought by adult collectors, with disposable income. I'm all in for HT (and SSC) to make as many interesting products as possible. A variate market makes fans happy.

Ditto on the Tumbler & '89 Batmobile. Superb vehicles by HT.

Definitely picking up the DeLorean, although now with the reveal of the BTTF2 version I'm a little indecisive on which one to buy.

Great post. Agreed on all points.

LOL...yeah, I can't sleep while the fate of toy collecting hangs in the balance. ;)

A 1/6th scale tie fighter is cool and all but to be honest I'd much rather see a 1/6th scale x-wing.

If it's 1/6-ish and a 12 inch figure can fit inside then damn....I don't mind if it's a little on the small side, most Kenner ships were smaller than they were supposed to be and that suited us just fine. All I know is anyone who sees this will simply say "Holy **** that's awesome!" No one will be taking out a tape measure and cross referencing it with their "SW Vehicles" hardcover. At least not in my house. :lol

Finally something I can agree with in this thread.
