Wow....The Tumbler is $500......I really want it but will have to save for it, no way I can swing it with everything ordering right now especially with HT Iron Man on the horizon....I have a feeling though at $500 that it'll be one that won't exactly sell out everywhere. The Pod though is a complete pass at $300. I'm not a huge enough fan of Bats to collect every little piece and aspect of him so the moto can stay away considering the iconic vehicle is the Batmobile

i like the products. i just hope the movie doesn't flop. no way will this do as good as iron man or hulk.but tumbler if i didn't already have so much preordered. i would want this in a heartbeat.

gonna have to pass on both. outta the 2 I liked the tumbler better, but not for $500, might consider it if its the batmobile from the movie batman. the best movie batmobile IMHO.

I've got a feeling it will retail for $399 + $30 or so for shipping. Still more than I'd pay.

Those prices are probably what Hot Toys sets, as all other companies do. Then the majority of places will sell it at a lower standard retail price.

It may be cheaper. The Joker and Batman were going for around $154 for preorder.

The Tumbler is only 1/4 the price of a Cinemaquette - I'll have to get 4!

I'd say it'll do just as well if not better than Iron Man and it'll definitely have the Hulk beat!

Won't be hard to beat the Hulk. Iron Man on the other hand, that is a tough one to top. Although Heath some speculate that he died because of the Joker role, so we could be in for some intense and moving acting from the late Mr. Ledger.

Depending on what sort of markup these things have compared to the Batman and Joker figuers, I still think Toys2 will have them for less than if you bought them with JPYen. Somewhere around $323-$359 for the car and $211-235 for the bike is my estimate.

no, wrong
the car = 456 us dollars
pod = 298 us dollars

based on the japanese YEN prices posted here: https://www.runboard.com/bmedicom.f14.t13335|offset=130

and converted the prices using this https://www.xe.com/ucc/convert.cgi
so, you were wrong for about 100 dollars for the car and almost 100 dollars for the pod, first go and do some research before giving people false hope by posting wrong prices...:)

He was saying that Toys2 will have them at a discount relative to the Japanese retail prices, although I'm not sure whether the discount would be that large.

Thanks for contributing in such a thoughtful way!

Do the math and you'll see. The Original Batman has a JPY of 22,000 yet was priced at Toys2 for 145 USD and not 205 USD which a strict JPY to USD would suggest -- a full $60 less!

Also you'll notice that the Joker which has a price of 19,000 JPY was priced at Toys2 not at 177 USD as your logic would suggest but at 145 USD.

If the markup is consistant with the Batmobile and Batpod as with the figures (which my post stipulated as a condition) then it follows that the price range should be between .00659 to 1 and .00732 to 1. (Isn't math fun?) Now it goes without saying that if retailers aren't making as much off these guys as the figures or if Toys2 or his middleman want to mark them up even more just because they can then Toys2 won't be able to offer them for the same type of discount.

Riko did the conversion using the same tool that I did and arrived at the prices I first posted. To be honest, I'm a bit puzzled at how you arrived at such low estimates too. Yes, I imagine Toy Square will have the items for a lower price point, but I seriously doubt the savings will be what you're claiming.

Of course, if it is, that would be very welcoming indeed. :)

Agreed, markup generally varies by pricepoint. But I don't think you're going to find that Toys2 or really much of anyone else knocking $100+ off these products. I'd expect prices around the Yen we've been given, and then just be pleasantly suprised if anyone starts selling these with a minimal markup over the wholesale cost.

that's indeed veeery large :)

:rotfl

I don't think HT or any Dealer is going to price themselves out of the market in this economy. 450-500 is simply too much for the Tumbler. The 1/6 R/c was made a lot cheaper, yes it wasn't as detailed but it was an RC.

I'm hoping these will be more reasonably priced.

So with these prices being "too much" what would be a good price for them.

I actually thought the prices were fairly close.

I was actually thinking around $150 for the Batpod and $350 for the Tumbler.
