Not a problem! It really does look amazing on the shelf and will grab tons of attention. But it is what it is....an accessory. You won't be able to change poses with it and display options will be very limited. So think wisely before taking the plunge.

p.s. Be careful breathing in too much fumes from the tires.....makes you woozy...haha

Post some pic darren:rock I Would like to See cape in waving mode.

Thanks for the info darren, got me back to 50/50 on getting this thing. Long term, this thing is going to sit there with Batman just standing next to it or something, unless I buy a second TDK Batman to have always sitting on it, which won't be cheap either. So in the end, the investment may be $250 for a few cool pictures and a vehicle sitting on the shelf, which, as a long piece, the pod is not that neat, it's Batman mounted on it and all that makes the difference.

Much to ponder, thanks for the tips.

Hey Darren. Would you mind posting the end to end measurement of the batpod? I want to make sure it can fit in my shelf.

Kevin

Cheers Darren, faster than a speeding bullet..oh hang on that's the other guy.
Those handlebars sound like they might be annoying, so theres definetly no way of clipping them more secure?

I'm hopeing mine will be here in the UK by Friday.

Thanks for the review, Darren. I think I'll pass on this one unless I can find it cheap sometime down the road.

I don't know if that should be listed as a con because of the design of the Batpod itself has little articulation to begin with, doesn't it?

More than it first looks actually. While it doesn't have a great deal of side to side turning movement in the front wheel, there is still some. And the front and back wheels in the film not only spin front to back like a normal wheel, but also seem to have the ability to spin side to side, like when he turns around by driving up to wall and when he comes to a stop after coming out of the alley (if you notice you see the headlights make a couple of revolutions as the front wheel flips around)

Congrats on getting one, Darren. And thanks for the straight-to-the-point review. It's gonna be a long wait for us who are getting this via DC Direct.

Also I found out by watching the special features on the Blu-Ray that the Batpod is actually the front two wheels of the Tumbler. I had thought that is was just the left side front and back tire, but the pod comes out in a "U" shape and the right front wheel folds to become the back wheel. I didn't expect Hot Toy's to give it the ability to fold, but I thought that it was interesting. :D

EDIT: Actually now that I think about it I don't know why I thought that the pod was the front and back wheel because the back wheels are bigger than the front wheels on the Tumbler.

ETA for the Tumbler?... Are we still looking at a possible late January arrival to North America (I'm thinking specifically of Toys2)?

Played around with it for a bit and here are some thoughts:

Pros:
Very well made and painted. Tires are made with a rubber covering stretched over plastic. Some parts are even metal. The paint job is also very good with appropriate weathering. There is even weathering on the tires. It feels nice and sturdy and doesn't feel cheap.

Cons:
(1)Very few articulation points.
(2)The wired cape + cape holder is pretty hard and annoying to use (I do admit that I'm very impatient though).
(3)Having Batman seated on the Batpod causes his suit to bunch up a lot. Don't know if you would want him seated like that for extended periods. I'm guessing that most people will have him seated for some quick photos and then take him off the pod. I have Batman displayed standing next to the pod and it looks amazing!
(4)The handle bars fall off really really easily. This is very annoying when you are trying to put Batman on the pod....you are adjusting his legs...handle bars fall off...you adjust Batman's hands and the handle bars fall off...accidentally bump the pod...handle bars fall off. Just extremely annoying !@@$##@%$ I don't understand why HT couldn't design handle bars that stay.

Even though I listed more cons than pros I am still happy with my purchase. However, my honest opinion is that it is overpriced. This thing cost about the same as the powerloader but features way less articulation and isn't as intricate IMO. If you have the dough and you want the ultimate accessory then buy all means get it. It will definitely be the first thing people notice when they look at your collection (until the tumbler is released). To sum it up...buy this if you have the dough and are a huge TDK fan. Otherwise skip it and buy two figures instead at this price.

got some questions about your cons...you say few articulation, so it has some articulation right? wich ones, besides the turning wheels :)
does it "steer"?

fact is, the batpod does not really steer intensly like a normal bike, I also got the blu ray and saw the extra's...
In the movie it only could go straight and all major turns were cgi. But I would like to know if there is minimal steering?

that all said, it is normal that the actual 1/6th scale has little articulation if the real thing couldn't even steer very hard...:) So I do not see that really as a con.

About the handle bars, they made a choise to make it movie accurate, so I guess it would mean that it is sensitive in a 1/6th scale. Rather have it accurate than another design to make it "stronger". + I guess they made it seperate so that they could ship it neatly in to the box (for shipping to countries like mine :)) So I actually praise hot toys for making the handle bars like they made it :)

Don't know, but it needs another look!!!

Ya, I don't see this becoming cheap, but at $250+ for it, I'm going to pass. I'd love to make images with it, but when that's done, having it just sit next to Batman on display won't be too cool. Glad I read Darren's review when I did, I was fired up and probably going to order tonight, but reason settled in again.
