The beast has arrived. Pics later tonight. The new cape has a wire in it and also has a cape holder together with it. Hard to explain I'll take pics later to show how it works.

Oh and I don't know how reliable my dealer is....but he says Two-Face will also be released this week while the Mark 3 has been delayed until Jan.

The cape included doesn't have a wire in it. It is an actual "cape holder" that you attach to Batman's back.

Please share pics of the device off the figure, I'm curious what it is and how it works, the look it achieves is great, however to some extent, a wired cape would have been nice in addtion, I imagine this tool may limit how you make his cape "fly".

Sorry I was wrong and it has a wire in it. However there is also a cape holder. Let me take a quick pic of the instructions.

Thanks, sounds like they really put a good deal of effort into optimizing the visual appearance of this piece. I've got a feeling I'm going to pull the trigger on ordering this soon, resistance is weakening.

Resistance is Futile!!

Indeed. I think I'm going to cave. While I love Aliens as a movie, the Power Loader's cool and with a Queen it'd be badass, but I don't have any emotional attachment to it, it's just a neat thing, so I think that's why I've soured a bit to owning that. I love Batman more, especially the Nolan Batmans and all of the scenes with him on the Pod were great, I loved the visuals, the music, the emotional stakes, him racing to save Rachel and the closing shot of the movie are just very near and dear for me. Having this bike and enjoying those moments in my collection are just too tempting, and the Mattel version just doesn't hold a candle to this. I think I may be happy longterm if I have the Batpod. Guess I'll crunch the numbers tonight and see if I can swing it.

From the instructions it looks like there is no wire in the cape, but there actually is.
The cape holder is like Doc Oc's tentacles.

That is a cool idea. I wonder how hard one would be to find on Ebay. Are the wires poseable or are they in a fixed position?

ohhh man !!! WHY WHY WHY !!

why does HT make such incredible things.
I can feel my credit card shaking in my wallet.

This is one heck of a model and with the wired cape is too hard to resist.

DAMMMMMM YOUUUUUUU !!

HOT TOYS !!

Thank for sharing darren.
Crap, I thought wires inside the cape.

Very smart. A wired cape alone wouldn't elevate, good of them to use an added support system. Picture possibilities even off the bike are greatly enhanced with this.

I am with you sean.
The tumbler is cool but the batpod has so much Symbolism in this movie.
that scene when harvey and rachel are riged to blow and they switch to batman riding to the rescue and the music kicks in high " WOW "
SPECTACULAR !!

the batpod is the Knight's horse that he rides to save Damsel in Distress.

pure genius!!

I most have this.

Thank for sharing darren.

You are most welcome. There are wires inside the cape in addition to the Dr. Oc cape holder. Haven't tried them out yet. Will do so after I'm through with my application for veterinary school !@#$

Ahhh screw vet school I'm gonna go play with my batpod :lol

There is a wire in the cape, but my guess is along maybe the sides, along the bottom for sure, just nothing from the neck to the wing tips.

The cape is a cool idea. I really didnt 'want' to buy this, but i bet once the pics start rolling in, it'll be a MUST HAVE for me lol

He said that there are wires in the cape as well. The wire in the cape is probably not near strong enough to hold the cape up on its own, so its probably mainly there for fine tuning the look. The cape holder is doing the majority of the propping.

Edit: Nevermind, its already been mentioned.

Played around with it for a bit and here are some thoughts:

Pros:
Very well made and painted. Tires are made with a rubber covering stretched over plastic. Some parts are even metal. The paint job is also very good with appropriate weathering. There is even weathering on the tires. It feels nice and sturdy and doesn't feel cheap.

Cons:
(1)Very few articulation points.
(2)The wired cape + cape holder is pretty hard and annoying to use (I do admit that I'm very impatient though).
(3)Having Batman seated on the Batpod causes his suit to bunch up a lot. Don't know if you would want him seated like that for extended periods. I'm guessing that most people will have him seated for some quick photos and then take him off the pod. I have Batman displayed standing next to the pod and it looks amazing!
(4)The handle bars fall off really really easily. This is very annoying when you are trying to put Batman on the pod....you are adjusting his legs...handle bars fall off...you adjust Batman's hands and the handle bars fall off...accidentally bump the pod...handle bars fall off. Just extremely annoying !@@$##@%$ I don't understand why HT couldn't design handle bars that stay.

Even though I listed more cons than pros I am still happy with my purchase. However, my honest opinion is that it is overpriced. This thing cost about the same as the powerloader but features way less articulation and isn't as intricate IMO. If you have the dough and you want the ultimate accessory then buy all means get it. It will definitely be the first thing people notice when they look at your collection (until the tumbler is released). To sum it up...buy this if you have the dough and are a huge TDK fan. Otherwise skip it and buy two figures instead at this price.
