The tumbler was not a real batmobile because it's a tank! For the next movie that will be a brand new real batmobile! Like Burton's movies or Batman animated.. The bat-pod will be always present in the next movie!

I think if there is a new batmobile hot toys, it's for the movie The Dark Knight Returns!!!

When I see the license products in www.hottoys.com.hk , The Dark Knight collection is the most important! For Batman Begins there was only one Batman figure!

Do you ever seen batman? Do you seen the HT Batmobile packaging stating Batmobile???

yeah so?

like salvatore said, it is a tank. It is not a real 'batmobile' that word hasn't even been used in the movies, they just call it the Tumbler.
It is a military vechicle in the first place that Bruce happens to use as Batman...in that context you could call it the "batmobile"
But in se it is not the batmobile but a military vechicle used for that purpose only....it wasn't build specifically for batman!

But in a marketing sence, it is more appealing to call it the batmobile...that is why the box says batmobile

To my concern.. whoever said the Tumbler is a tank, is too plain stupid... better do some research, the idea of this vehicle "Batmobile" was scratch built by Nolan with the idea of combining a Humvee and Lamborghini. Its not even near to a tank design (Period)

Tanks don't jump and they certainly will not even reach 50mph ever! Doesn't the Tumbler reach near 90mph?... A tank cannot outrun police cars.

Tanks don't jump

oh and the newer tanks can be fast...

This one reaches the 50 mph ;)

Nevertheless I would agree on saying that the tumbler isnt a tank. But it isnt a batmobile either. Lucius Fox did a great explenation when he introduced the vehicle to Wayne... You guys should watch BB again before you start a nerd-discussion you have to prepare yourself... :lol

no offense my friends, just kidding around while I am sitting in university writing a stupid studying-work...

well I agree with you that there will be a new batmobile but I honestly believe it will be the second one. In Batman Begins Lucius Fox tells wayne there was 2 of them and they were used as bridging vehicles so he may be after the second one. Just a thought

Yeah, I think I remember hearing there were 2. If Nolan wants a redesigned batmobile for part 3 and Morgan Freeman doesn't return, I believe the Wayne Corp executive in TDK (who threatened to blackmail Bruce for discovering the tumbler blueprints) will be in charge of building a new batmobile (and hopefully a batjet too) for Bruce.

That guy (I think he's also an engineer?) is after all in debted to Bruce for saving his life on the day he was going to reveal to the world that Bruce and Batman are one. Just my theory...

In the comics, Bruce took in a retardate/autistic genius named Harold who builds all his gadgets and vehicles for him.

Lucius will return which is why he had the self destruct set up on the computer for Lucius. But I could see them using the second tumbler with some little updates. I just HOPE they dont change the batsuit again and if they do I hope it is Nolans choice only and not the studios for money purposes.

@KingGrayskull, and the condition it's in when it lands? I'd imagine the tumbler's axles would still get wrecked but I'd imagine the big cushy tyres would help great impacts compared to a tank.

I am not here seeking for a forumfight or something

I am just saying that Salvatore is right when he said that the tumbler is not really a batmobile, even if it says so on the box.

And you are right, it is a combination based on a hummer and a lambo. Many of us batfreaks know what the origins are of the tumbler and I assume many have seen that making of...

And we said "tank" but you got the point...it is supposed to be a indestructible vehicle used for military purpose, OK NOT A TANK, we used the wrong words, but again, you got the point since you obviously are poring with wisdom based on your 2 posts on this board.

btw Welcome on the board! :)

ps: the real batmobile, that is made and designed especially for Batman directly, should be apearing in the 3rd batfilm. I would assume that we'll see actual batmotives in that car, like the '89 model from Furst.
Although I hope the next car will have a more destinctive batmotive to it.

well I just got mine in from toys2 today and I cannot reccomend them enough for a product like this. For one Eric called me and told me to check my email about the tumblers. He opened up 3 different ones and took pics of each. He let me choose which one I wanted and repacked it with some soft material on top so no scratches. There are no paint defects and it is absolutely perfect. Not to mention I only bought it on wednesday and took only 2 days to get here.

I just hope it's not just limited to road use.

Thats impressive service. There's not one shop I know of that would open the package. A huge majority are against that.

The Batmobile, with its unusually high number of common issues making it an exception, is one thing. However, I'm not sure I'd want someone opening something I purchased prior to sending it. Then again, I don't pay customs and VAT on purchases, so it is easier for me to return defective items.

I feel bad for people who live in areas of the world where shipping and taxes are through the roof for the items they want.

hi, having as usual jumped on the wagon at the wrong time and play.com now out of stock has anyone in the uk be charged by customs for importing 1 as i only have small budget for this. any replys are grateful

its't not that because it will have the looks of a batmobile that it couldn't do the crazy stuff the tumbler could do...
I bet they'll find a way to keep the offroading capacity and flying-over-rooftop capacity combined with a real batmobile look :)

Bat"Mobile" like automobile...

It's the Batmobile simply because Batman drives it.

Even a Pinto would be a Batmobile as long as Bruce Wayne drove when he dressed up as Batman...:lol

Yes very good reflection... But in BB & TDK they say The Tumbler and never The Batmobile! And the Bat-Pod is named by Alfred...
I don't understant why Hot Toys use Batmobile and not Tumbler! Maybe just because that's better for selling! The Bat-Pod and The Batmobile.

You've missed the crucial point why I said that. How many shops would carefully inspect it for you, take a photo and give you an option what to take. Re-package it for better transit so you do not have to go through all the hassle of having to send it back.

They are doing this for good customer service. Or upon request. Could you imagine the hassle if somebody had two attempts at this thing and they were both duffers? lots of P&P expenses back and forth.

Mr. Thrifty, you nailed it on the money. As for the Tumbler Batmobile. It was called the Tumbler BEFORE Bruce Wayne got it. Once he painted it, and drove it with his Batman suit, it became the Batmobile.

It's that simple.
