I probably wouldn't even display him with any other Aliens so it wouldn't bother me

Yes, 'figure' is less of a promise than 'figures', so my guess is that we'll eventually see it. If they play safe it will be the 'xenomorph', but I hope it will be the neomorph or David/Walter. And if it sells we might see more... though we probably won't. But they did spend money on he license, so we'll see...

Considering the Alien Warrior they released last year is still available everywhere and sells for below MSRP on eBay, it's safe to say that didn't sell well at all. Hopefully they realize it's because of their own terrible execution and not because there aren't fans of the franchise waiting to gobble up a "great" Xeno 1/6 scale figure. I think most that bought it, like myself, only did so because they wanted to either show support, or because they figure it's the best we're ever going to get from them. The rubber is so tight and rigid it's basically a statue, still pisses me off to no end if you couldn't tell. :)

the articulation and rubber issues were why I didn't buy it. To me it detracts from the 'character' to not be able to get it into anything remotely resembling any hallmark poses. you can see NEca is doing it with the proto/xeno, they have it in the iconic crouching position as it tries to smash thru the glass. If HT's creation can't get anywhere near that, it's not going to do any justice to the character.

Exactly which is why I can't see them making a white rubber based body , staining would dry collectors crazy :slap

It's to the point where while watching Covenant last weekend, there's a scene where
the Protomorph (Xeno) is standing completely upright and walking like a human and the thought ran through my head that they did that so HT could make it lol.

When they didn't learn from ED-209 or the past Alien figures I think it's safe to say they won't learn from the most recent Alien warrior either. You'd almost swear they're deliberately sabotaging these licenses. Like David.

Hot Toys is pretty much telling us:

"Look upon my works, ye Mighty, and despair..."

I think this will look great as a figure....

yeah as long as you can pose it and it can crouch! I'd buy that before a neomorph.

Alien: Covenant isn't exactly the definition of a big success. Per The Numbers, the film has pulled in $42 million domestically (US), with an international take around $80 million. The film is tracking well below Prometheus, and some might suggest it might not break $100 million domestic - even if the international market is where any money will ultimately be. Here's an interesting break down thus far:

If HT's Alien Warrior didn't sell as expected last year (even when the creature design was from the beloved Aliens), then I doubt HT will be interested in releasing anything from a mediocre movie with mediocre box office. I don't think the film is enough of a break-out success to lure anyone but the usual limited market of franchise fan boys to the merchandising table, and I don't think that's what HT is aiming for at this point.

Well I don't know what the thinking is,there's The Crow figure still warming shelves in stores,as well as a multitude of Iron Man's,Cap,Zod,Jor-el,Hulk,AVP etc.....that's right...some Tim Burton art piece that's gunna be around for the next 10 years once released, even if they just made a smaller release size I would be happy, the movie has made enough money to get a sequel going, maybe HT should have just kept their mouths shut about this altogether
