Who says Penguin will be a DX?

Reeve Superman was originally intended s one, but was made a regular MMS instead.

These are purely hypotheticals, Fabio. I was simply stating that, if Penguin did turn out to be a DX, I think that would invalidate the opinion that Bane isn't iconic enough to get the DX treatment at some point.

Even then, I've never seen someone say that they've only wanted a Penguin figure, and that they've wanted it forever.

Hello there names Bo!! I am the guy who has always wanted Penguin. It has been on my wish list from Mcfarlane days to NECA (on the 7inch scale) For HT's to "make it" is a dream come true!!!

I've been waiting for a proper Devito Penguin since 1992 when Kenner (great company, despite this **** up) gave us this,

Instead of anything that resembled this,

There was the Applause figure that was pretty good, but it wasn't in scale with any of the good stuff. As far as figures go, Batman Returns Penguin has yet to get his due.

For me, he's much better than Bane but then again, I'm sure to other collectors he's just as lame as Bane, maybe more so. Still, with his look, clothing, unique True Type build, accessories, weapons, etc. I think he'd make a kick *** figure that people would appreciate, even if they don't like the character. Certainly cooler than an *** masked thug on a generic true type with a couple of hands and a broken cowl.

I think the reason some think he will be a DX is because he has a ridiculous amount of options HT could give him as accessories.

Also since he would be a 100% one use body (off the top of my head, can't think of any other Danny Devito characters they would make...Twins? :lol) they could charge more to get their money back.

This license will be take more time to show off than I though...:impatient:

There's nothing of Returns here:

Looks like a classic thing they did in the 90s, release a figure that looks nothing like the original source material. They've clearly marketed it as a Batman Returns but it looks more like Burgess Meredith or something from the animated series.

I imagine Penguin would maybe come with a variety of umbrellas (maybe even one that opens and closes, if they can get something like that right), a second outfit, maybe even a penguin! Perhaps different heads, one depicting a bloody mouth from biting that poor guy's nose.

Means nothing.

They reveal and show new figures on a whim. Some with teasers or announcements, some without.

Batman Returns could pop up any day, same with Arkham City or the Adam West 60's collectibles . . . OR months from now. Nobody can ever be sure with Hot Toys.

:exactly: :gah: :lol

With Returns - I just want Michelle, but with the 66 TV show, I might splurge a little more.

I agree. This is where and when Hot Toys love to play god. Only they know exactly when things are going to happen.

Yup, only they know what they're doing. All collectors can do is assume and speculate.

I'm thinking they're going to hold of a little bit for the '89 Batmobile to get released, then show em this Spring. Especially once the post-TDKR blu ray hype dust settles and they have Catwoman out.

OR

Maybe just cancel them. :lol Like I said, you never know with Hot Toys.

They seem to have big ideas with this one though, and the '89 Keaton Batman was a hit and one of their best sellers. If anything, a cancellation was something they consider, I'm sure they'd put out atleast Batman in his Returns armor, 1/6 and 1/4. That seems like a no brainer if they want to capture the success of the DX 09.

Good point. :lol

The way I see it, in 5 days it'll be a year since the Batman Returns 1/6 and 1/4 DX MMS announcement.

The Batman '89 license was announced in December of 2010,

keaton-batman.jpg

It took 9 months for the specs and pics of Batman and Joker to arrive. Then an additional 5 months for Batman to ship (and 6 months for Joker).

No time to panic just yet. Look how long it's taken the Batmobile to go from development, to specs/pics/preorder and it still hasn't come out yet.

That's why I want a DX Bane. I think that the MMS is weak sauce, and it could be a lot better.
DX Bane could have:
-Airplane look and bag
-detonator
-new anatomically plausible head sculpt
-PERS
-interchangeable arms (muscular and articulated for "like a boss" poses)
-broken cowl
-improved courthouse/Harvey Dent monologue costumes
-cooler boots, similar to Elvis' and DX 11 Joker's shoes
-Motorcycle helmet and courier vest
-main "short jacket" costume
-shotgun
-alternate dioramas (courthouse steps and sewer)
-knitting kit(that one's for the lolz)

That being said, when you spoke of Penguin's accessories, I wonder if we'll get the severed hand.

Nothing against Bane, I thought he was great in the movie, but I doubt we will see a DX anytime soon, if ever.

People are still talking about The Penguin twenty years later (it helps that Danny Devito is a popular actor), Bane might be forgotten after the Batman reboot in a couple years............ or they might make a Bane DX in twenty years :lol

Dont try and have that debate with him :nono
