I hope all of them will be DX (Bat, Cat and Penguin).

Just the Batman as a DX (PERS,maskless sculpt, big winged alternate cape), Catwoman(maskless sculpt included) and Penguin can be regular MMS.

Haters gonna hate. It's easy to talk about how ****ty PERS is when we see figures that aren't exactly the pinnacle, but everyone conveniently leaves out when it does work (DXO9 and DX08 are both Batman figures, and they both have great PERS), and before I hear the "but I don't want ugly panels on my Batmen," you can't even tell unless you display your figures assbackwards.

Yeah but you've conveniently left out that DX08 and 09 work because those characters wear make-up around the eyes which disguises what is arguably the biggest problem with PERS - the thick eyelids, recessed eyes, guyliner, extra shadow etc etc. Those problems are more than likely still there, they're just less obvious with the black and white 'eye-makeup'

I wouldn't call myself the biggest hater of PERS but there is undeniably those downsides to it.

I have been collecting HT's for about two years now. This is my first time experiencing HT's obtaining a movie license that has not followed through to product images. I can't believe that it will be a year since the license announcement and absolute "zero" updates. Someone here said it best…"Creating a human baby doesn't take as long as a HT's product."

I dunno. Might work for her, if memory serves they were intense with the eyeliner on her in the film. The access to the joystick might be a problem though.

Hmmm... for some reason I was thinking about her unmasked, but it's true that masks actually make for decent PERS.

Edit - heavy eyeliner too. True.

True, but both Keaton and Devito had those dark circles under the eyes, so what's your point? Skywalker looked okay enough with PERS.

You might think so but not everyone would agree. Same with the DX10, I found the PERS useful but I must admit that the sculpt would probably be better without it.

PERS is alright on some head sculpts . . .

. . . but they'd be even better with out it.

Head sculpt without the PERS gimmick > Head sculpt with the PERS gimmick

I think we all want great figures with different options (if available) accessories and weapons, not flashy stands and moving eye *****.

:exactly: I personally find PERS a hit-or-miss feature from HT. While I love it on the Keaton 89 figure, the eye make-up didn't help DX12's PERS. My DX10 will forever have his sunglasses on, but I love the PERS on my Jack Nicholson. I don't think CR SUperman would be as perfect as it is if it were a DX.

But I think PERS would work well for the 3 main characrters for the Returns license. I HOPE.

Yeah, I know, I'm just saying, just like we shouldn't totally disregard the negatives in favor of the positives, we shouldn't disregard the positives and dwell solely on the negatives, either, if that makes sense.

I dont like the PERS on certain figures but I can see where its necessary on others. To me though, as someone whose pretty picky about condition, it just gives me another thing to worry about. If the eyes are crooked or off center it just makes me stare at them and obsess over it looking at other pictures to make sure I'm not crazy. The longer you look at the PERS the less you can tell how far off base it is.

That being said, if Penguin did wind up being a DX, I see no reason why we couldn't get a Bane DX at some point. The fat little Cobblepot would pretty much invalidate the "Bane's not iconic enough" Mumbo jumbo, as he isn't particularly iconic either, at least not DX iconic.

Nothing against Bane, I thought he was great in the movie, but I doubt we will see a DX anytime soon, if ever.

People are still talking about The Penguin twenty years later (it helps that Danny Devito is a popular actor), Bane might be forgotten after the Batman reboot in a couple years............ or they might make a Bane DX in twenty years :lol

That's the thing, though, is that we don't know where Bane will be in twenty years, and I've had this debate before, but I still don't think that Penguin is DX iconic. The only talk that I've heard of Devito's Penguin in the past however many years is either when I bring up Returns in a discussion or when people are discussing these figures. Honestly, Penguin seems more like an afterthought. It used to be, "I would buy a Nicholson Joker and Keaton Batman in a heartbeat if HT made them." Now that that's happened, people say "Bring on Returns!" :rock

Even then, I've never seen someone say that they've only wanted a Penguin figure, and that they've wanted it forever. To me, Penguin is there for completists. He's the short, fat kid that you let play on your team in gym class because you don't want his older, more athletic brother to feel awkward. The fact that I see people in threads saying that they would take the inferior MMS Bane over the amazing DX 11 Joker tells me how much people like the character.

Still, Penguin aside, a Keaton Batman 2.0 (Returns armor version) and Catwoman are more iconic than Bane.

Right up there with '89 Batman and Joker and TDK Batman and Joker.

Agreed, do you get what I'm saying though? As an individual character, I don't believe that Devito's Penguin is more worthy of a DX than Bane.
