Yeah, big base is the statue, smaller base is the figure.

The mask has openings where the mandibles come through, so it looks as if the mask has mandibles, but it does not, they are from the figures, not the mask.

Good God the unmasked sculpt is the only thing holding me back with this figure.

He has Gary Busey teeth but i like the unmasked look myself as opposed to him with his mask on.

Yah, not a big fan of the closed mouth look (don't like the horse teeth or the fact that he has non pointed teeth to begin with). Will likely display with mask or open mouth.

I like the different look, adds variety to the Preds, like us. Different races and characteristics.

Some skin pattern or spots here and there would have made it better.

This looks like an entirely different creature.

Horse teeth, bone blade head things, gigantic bulbous orb/bubble things that look like they're about to burst from his head, what looks like a beard, the textured rainbow/gummy worm predlocks, the body of a malnourished zombie hulk...it just doesn't look like a predator. It's so far off from anything we've seen. And not in a good way imo.

I understand why you don't like it, but if you don't like it and don't have interest in it why do you follow this thread? I'm not trolling or anything, just wondering because if I didn't like it like you don't, I wouldn't be subscribed to this thread.

I for one am glad they're making this one. I confess at first glance when this was announced I didn't like it so much, although I got a bit interested. But now I like it a lot and wish to have it in my collection. I'm also curious at what will follow up, if anything at all.

Unfortunately, there is nothing that stops people from creating variations (for the better or worse really is personal taste). Just because its far off doesn't mean its automatically bad. It might be bad for you, and many other people, and that is fine. But just respect the fact that there are people who think differently. Your obviously welcome to leave logical posts like the one you just posted. But if you have established a record of coming in and picking fights or leaving smart ass sounding comments that obviously are meant to raise people's attention, then you can't help that some of us will feel that you are trolling.

Anyways like I said, I agree with you on everything regarding this being far off from the classic designs that most people like. But at least for me, I'm not trying to compare it to the classic designs. I'm just treating it as some fantasy variation of a "character - the predator" that I like. No need to feel offended that something like this exists, there will always be something that you don't like, and if so, just ignore it if it really offends you that much. maybe like you said, this really is an "entirely different creature", and maybe just see it that way, so then there really isn't much to argue. I dont think people here disagree with the points you just made.

I love the horse teeth look and it kind of makes sense . I mean how we're predators supposed to chew on there food. As deadly as the predator was , they really have a terrible chewing problem. This guy can eat anything he wants .

I don't really mind the horse teeth myself, because realistically they'd work, but the bubbles on the head are really making this thing look too cartoony, imo. That and the lack of skin patterns.. but I'll admit the armour looks ace.

So anyway, back to the main point.

I'm ALL for variety. But to me, this doesn't look like just a different Predator. Without the mandibles, I don't think he would even be recognizable as a predator. There's a point where you're going too far, and I think this figure has skyrocketted past that point.

But even if this wasn't supposed to be a predator, I don't really think any of it's features are appealing. They seem to only worsen his overall appearance imo.

For example, the Predalien design from AvP:R.

It was a pretty terrible design for a Predalien...however, it looks insanely cool.

I think this design is not only terrible for the A/P franchise, but has nothing really appealing about it as a random monster/demon. Or at least far more negatives than positives.

We get you hate it, do not like it, think it is an aberration, and you do not want it to be made. You dont have to keep coming here and remind us of it.

Since we are all adult collectors here and nobody forces anyone to buy or see or even consider anything we don't like, it is best if you would just stop this behavior. I know this is nobodys thread and anyone hs the right to comment, but like I said, as adults as we are, wewould expect any person not interested in X figure to just forget about it.

I know you like Preds and will most likely tell me that you are just checking up on everything related. But again, I like Batman, but I only follow the figures of said character that I like and wont go and post every two weeks or 7 months that i hate it for whatever reason and ruin the excitement or constructive conversations people might be having at that time.

But I dont understand what your problem is. Seriously, i try to find something logical as to what do you gain for coming here and keep reminding us that you hate it and still trying to be informed of this figure. Because if you come with the excuse that you want to see how the figure turns out, that is just a stupid excuse because if you collect Hot Toys figures, you know that if there are any changes, they will be minimal. And besides, your biggest problem with this figure is because you hate Samurais, and this is a samurai Pred, so there is an even smaller chance of any change in the samurai part.

So again, any excuse as to why you keep coming here is just an excuse to the real reason, trolling.

this figure is one artist's take on predator, there is no need to try and weave it in to the predator universe...

imo I think it looks killer, something different, and more so a piece of art rather then a rendition of a predator...would I puchase this?...maybe,

its like bashing Ralphs Mcquarries work compared to Lucas' vision.... they saw the characters in a different light and perspective.

I dont think is a crappy name for pred. I think is an amazing concept. Samurai and Predator smashed in to one MF amazing figure

I'll admit, when I first saw this thing a year ago, I could not stand the teeth. Today, I STILL can't stand the teeth.

The reason I'm still here and following up on this piece is because the merging of the predator with the Samurai theme is too bad ass to ignore... and that base!

If I had this figure on my shelf, biomask stays on and I may even put something black over the teeth to conceal them if necessary.
