Looking forward to the official announcement.
Just to clarify of who came first, the statue or the figure, the statue was done by some Japanese artists. Hot Toys liked the concept an announced that they would release a figure based on the statue. The thing is, i think that they will also release the statue, but I am not 100% sure.
Because the figure is based on the statue and Hoy Toys used the original outside artists that made it to also make the figure, it is expensive.
I like this pred and like the concept. The base is also just too cool to pass.

Good to hear others are interested in that statue-base also.
It needs to make sense for HT to move forward and sell this.
If demand seems low, they make only a few statues and the price will be high.
If demand is high, they make more of them and probably offer it at a lower price.
It's also possible this was created for the show only and that would be a crying shame.

It is a bit over the reaonable price. Just do this, if you are a person that smokes or drinks either coke or alcohol, stop it for a couple of months, since you are basically just throwing your money away anyway, and use it for the figure.
Simple. Maybe. But you will have the figure.

smokes and drinks, now that is a never-ending hobby lol. I don't smoke so I don't know if I'm way off on my estimates, but a pack of cigs are what, $7-8? Times however many packs / month, it adds up.
Yeah, by the time it is released, all the money that was going to be burned or spent on alcohol, can be used for the figure.
I dont drink or smoke either, it's just a suggestion for those that do have those habits and want to get the figure but maybe the price is too high.

Never though i'd say this but sideshow could learn a lesson from Hot Toys on how to make a cool Statue base

Is that the real base or a custom? It's different from what I remember but if that's the real one then the price is a tiny bit more reasonable.
It's not the real one. What customers are getting is a more dumbed-down version. If HT ends up releasing this as a statue as well (which is what they seem to have planned), then it would be cool to include the full prototype base with it.
Yeah, that statue is not actually from Hot Toys either I believe. It's from some Japanese artists. Hot Toys liked the concept and hired them to make a figure version of it, reason why most of us believe it to be the cause for the high price.
