I don't think they usually refund, but are often willing to transfer it to something else

I asked and "Kimberly" replied with, "The deposit would be non refundable on this order" and "It is not an actual policy" on first time NRDs being refunded.
Basically saying I was SOL. Which was fine, but I thought I'd ask. I"m not upset because I know what NRD stands for, but I have heard quite a few fellows on here mentioning that they were able to get it back or applied elsewhere for first timers. I don't like ordering through SS because of the tax and shipping (I"m in CA). Other than that I haven't encountered any issues with them. Honestly they have been great at fixing my very rare issues I have had with their figures.

In any event I'll order elsewhere because of the reasons stated above, but wanted to give a heads up to those that were hoping to get their NRD back.

Cancelled this guy. Contrary to what people have said Sideshow does not refund your NRD if it's your first time (for me atleast).
Oh well just the Mark VII & Mark 85 and I"m done using them :clap:hi5::yess::

What made you cancel him? Just curious.

Just moving my collection into a different direction. Looks to be a great figure still

I?m considering the same. I still want some of the Endgame figures but I?m considering instead of all of them just the big 3 and armored Thanos. He?s one I have to have. Might get into some Star Wars figures

I have been slowly getting back to what I originally love and that is robot/mech looking characters. For some reason as awesome as these figures are from Hot Toys I just can't get into them. With that caveat of it being robotic (Iron Man, WM, etc.) I will shortly be selling my two Spidermans and AOE Hulk. I cancelled Thanos and bunch of other Spideys and even my Vulture (gasp). I love the characters on screen, but they just don't translate well for me in figure form. To each their own. You have to happy with your collection. Good luck in your choice(s).:clap

It's one of my favorite things about this hobby: Everyone has a different perspective and everyone goes through these interesting changes of focus. I resisted all the Marvel stuff until Infinity War and Endgame and now I think I either have or will have every Hot Toys and Iron Studios offering from those movies. I sold off some Star Wars figures and statues to make room and budget. Still love Star Wars but had to make room for this franchise.

I'll agree as all of our collections are evolving as we do. Our wants likes and dislikes fade in time. I remember thinking the Mark 42 was really terrible and now it's on my shelf and I think it might be in my top 10 of suits. Who knows I could end up buying back some figures I have sold as I have done that in the past. I really am looking forward to this figure [Thanos] even though I am not picking him up as it stands currently.

I'm pretty much in the exact same situation and I completely agree with you.

After the Engame hype settled down I realized what I truly enjoy in a figure and I found myself looking back at some ThreeA pieces that I missed on because I couldn't afford them at the time. I always loved transformers and they're really doing a stunning job with the detail and accuracy in that department.

With that being said, I will still keep my preorders on the essentials from Endgame (the trinity, Thanos) and anything IM/WM.

You canceled your Vulture?? Say it isn't so!

I am the complete opposite when it comes to star wars, I used to buy almost everything 3 and 3/4 to 1/6 and have been contemplating just selling all of it to make room for marvel. After the last jedi i cant really enjoy the movies. I have liked the first 2 episodes of mandalorian though so I could change my mind.

I guess cancelled in a sense. I paid the 75 nrd, but wont make any further payments. I have until September to payoff if I choose to. Sent Joost a email about possibly getting it back. Hes busy and haven't heard from him yet although he was quicker to respond when i was giving him money lolz. I'm sure just a coincidence hes a good guy.

You are trying to get back your NRD for this too? You are on a roll asking to be refunded non refundable deposits.

I got my NRD back, 1st with Mark 85 and second with Spider-Man PS4. I just used the excuse it was my first Hot Toy, and it is. Ofcourse I put in more effort than ?it?s my first Hot Toy?.
Don?t think I can pull it off for the third time. They can see in their system how many times you get your NRD back.

If you are a first time order, they can make a acception if you ask nicely. If they say no, just be persistent.

I'm sorry to hear you're bailing on Vulture, but I take solace in the fact that Wor-Gar will soon offset your cancellation with his own order. Any.....................................minute.....................................now. :lol

Doesn't hurt to ask and I'm not on a roll because I didnt get anything back. I'm 0/2, plus that is $115 lost. Going forward I wont be so quick to PO something and support someone early on. Waiting is key. Lesson learned. Joost can use that NRD for development for those that are picking it up. I still have the option of paying the rest off if i choose to by September.

Indeed.

Sorry to hear about the change of heart but I've been there myself so I understand. This is one reason I seem so non-committal to Buffinator. :)
