i thought they said new bodies for the future release preds after guardian pred. they never mentioned re-making released preds but most likely back tracking un-released preds(P2).:dunno

Yes they said that. And when they were asked whether they are planning to revisit the older figures they replied by saying the only way they'll do that is by using the new body. And they have thought about doing that for sometime and now they have that chance with the new body.

The company doesn't care about sealing their fate when they get a hundred additional newbie fans with each passing day that will jump at the earliest opportunity to buy a remade AVP or P2 Predator.

Hell, I'd get excited for such a thing as well. If there are any figures that could use an update to become potentially awesome, it's those.

i could say the same thing for robocop and ed-209...but, that's wishful thinking. guess we have to wait and see.

and seal their fate with the likes of medicom? :lol

Medicom is still making tons of money from their Masked Rider line-up, even though the ones carried by PBM (Project Bandai Medicom) got reissued. They got new fans and more revenue when they reissued the sought after figures since that open the possibility of the new fans to collect them all.

Their prices are relatively higher than Hot Toys. So that is saying something.

They will remake them. Wait and see.

They wont because -

A) They're not relevent any more.

B) The movie is trash, and almost everyone thinks so.

C) There is no demand for them, other then collectors who need to have them all. Or collectors of certain characters like me (CP is heavy in my collection)

D) The movie is trash.

calling something exclusive(metal gear zombie camo) then re-releasing them as regulars down the road....sounds like a bad joke to me.

heck, even the joker is a man of his word. :lol

Guys Hot Toys has already redone a few. Yes they are different yet all the same:

Iron man mark 2
Iron Man mark 4, the secret project version and they are including with that gantry setup
Batman Original costume

I have a mark 2 and 4 and I dont like what they have done considering what I paid. Batman OC were selling for upwards of 600-700 at highs and now 400. It f'd up. You were happy with it when you released it the first time then you gotta upgraded it??? F U too. Funny thing is I will conform :(

HT made variants, IMO.(iron man, and batman line predominantly, even the predator line)

unlike medicom, re-releasing exclusives as regulars not variants...a few collectors sure felt they got bent with that move.:lol

Exactly.

If a company like medicom can get away with re-releases and still making money, what's stopping Hot Toys to release variants (improved version) of their older figures that have high demands?

Mark 2 Unleashed, Mark 4, Batman OC, etc, all received more positive responds than negative (which most likely comes from those who bought them at already higher than retail).

I think the inflated prices on feeBay beg to differ. Plus you're acting as if there are only a few collectors out there who need to have them all. More and more, we're noticing that's not the case. You put up an AVP Predator for sale and people will want it. Whether the movie was trash (which it wasn't to some ;)) or not.
