If a company like medicom can get away with re-releases and still making money, what's stopping Hot Toys to release variants (improved version) of their older figures that have high demands?

Mark 2 Unleashed, Mark 4, Batman OC, etc, all received more positive responds than negative (which most likely comes from those who bought them at already higher than retail).

variants offer something different however minute it is...re-releases are same thing, different date.

HT rolls with variants...not re-releases, IMO.
AVP predator variants, now that is worth expecting but dunno on how or what they'd do to execute it. perhaps another run of the BD/battle damage.

Added to watch list But as you said, there are so many cool things coming out at the moment
I cant really see Hot Toys remaking the AVP preds as battle damaged versions though, I mean Chopper and Celtic didnt really get damaged much before they died, so unless they made a Chopper with an alien tail sticking through his chest or a Celtic missing armour and a hole in his head I dont see it happening like that. They already made the Anicom Scar which was sort of battle damaged, so I dont see people who spent big bucks on that being very happy if Hot Toys decided to make a new battle damaged Scar. But I suppose that it would still be exclusive. Anyway, I dont have any of the AVP preds so I'd be happy if they remade them

I got mine at quite a nice price because one of the tusks was missing on the trophy skull, Yeah I'm going to wait and see what happens with the prices of Shadow it's too early to pull the trigger on him yet.

It's inevitable at this point. There was an FAQ article in a magazine earlier this year (March or April, I believe) with a question asking HT if they would re-release their old figures, specifically the AVP's and older Preds/Aliens. The company responded by saying if they were to do such a thing, they would not simply re-release the products, but instead marry their new techniques with the old designs. An upgrade, for lack of a better term. They then finished by saying they were still in the planning/researching stage and that we may see something in 2012.

We believe what we're seeing now with the Classic and Shadow Predator is the first step.

They saw ours and took notes. LOL. I say bring them on HT because the new Classic looks really nice. I'll take the P1, P2, and new Wolf. AVP 1 I'm not to sure about those. Movie accurate AVP1 = Gears of War Predators YUCK.

lol... The guys thats always bad mouthing the avp1 figures are really funny! If you own atleast one avp pred youd know that they are great pieces... And pictures dont do justice to one viewed in person in a great pose.

That would actually be awesome IMO... they may have been ridiculously buff, but they still looked totally badass to me. I'd love some movie-accurate AVP Predators. The armor, the long dreads, all the gear would be epic.

ok i have an avp body thats broken and i want to try and fix it. The thigh with the ball joint snapped from the groin area. I removed the screws from his butt area but now in struggling to seperate the 2 pieces wich make up the groin area... I cant get the seem where the 2 pieces meet undone... Any advice or method i can use to fix the broken of thigh or how the get the seem undone. Thanx

Awesome! When i was taking pictures of Wolf and Chopper for ebay i lined up Scar to take pictures of next. I got him in front of the camera and i just couldnt do it... He is seriously bad ass.

Yeah Scar is bad ass looking, Here he is assembled (Without any breakages, I thought I was going to break the right forearm as I spent 10 minuets trying to snap that _____ in )
Thankfully so far with my preds assembling>boiling water for neck some petroleum jelly for the neck peg and a hair drier for heating up belts\skirts.
