If that's really fake, it's a pretty impressive fake, yes please share the ebay user name with us

i know we need to get some bootlegs too , they look exactly the same as the original
and these cost the same as the original HTFs cost. so, no point getting a bootleg.
no way the bootlegs has to be not even half of the price of the original to be actually worth it you know
The actual pic of the item for sale didn't show anything wrong, looked like normal. Couldn't see the number but all looked ok.
I've just taken some pictures of the figure, to me it looks ok, it was described as a MIB never been opened so good luck with that. It's like the person I bought it from was sold a dummy and then onsold it another dummy - oh that's me.
I did buy 2 other AVPs from them and they're both fine so wait to hear from the seller. It cost around ~$900 in the end.
can you tell exactly where you got it or the ebay seller that sold itto you ?
This is actually kind of interesting... I mean, bootlegging an entire AVP figure? Can you please post some closer pics of the armor out of the packaging? Specifically the bio helmet? Dunno if the pegs were bootlegs or if they were just taken off a different figure, but a better look at the head, helmet, and body would help us figure out whether or not it's recasted. Not too easy to judge if it's still covered by a plastic tray.
To be honest the seller has been great to deal with and rectified the situation immediately so from receiving it yesterday to raising the issue today it has now been resolved. I was offered a full refund or discount. Given the figure is in good condition (fake or not???) I've taken the discount, as it's over 60% and that's alright for a loose figure (even though it isn't)
Problem is the discount came very fast in discussions and no requests for pictures or anything. So basically what I'm saying is the seller may have known that it was a fake to begin or not known - which they claim. However, I also bought 2 other AVP figures on the same day from the seller and they're both 100%, so to be honest I'm abit confused as to their motives. I will side with the good-side-of-the-force and say "they didn't know", as things have worked out.
I haven't heard of any fakes out there, but maybe someone in China opened up the Hot Toys AVP processing plant again when prices jumped above $700 a piece. The box would be hard to replicate given the gloss and matching the thickness of the cardboard could take some time but not impossible, not sure if they'd go to that effort:
So what's wrong with this Hot Toys AVP CELTIC Predator imitation:
1. Model number on the box is incorrect and states both MMS09 and MMS08 in places (Celtic is MMS08, Scar is MMS09)
2. Box is slightly smaller then the plastic insert that holds the figure so it's hard to close
3. There is no velcro attachment on the sleeve
4. The cardboard used feels very cheap, can hardly stand up on it's own
5. The inside of the box is white not black like other Hot Toy AVPs boxes
6. Inside the plastic case Celtic's neck is attached to the head not the body like Chopper and others, and the inside of the head has no round tube to support the neck rotation ball. Also the neck rotation ball is cut in half exactly. If anyone can confirm if this is normal that would be great????
7. Box is not glossy
8. Box is 2cm smaller in height than a standard AVP box.
So my advice to fellow collectors ask for plenty of close up photos, check the model number and make sure it's a glossy reflective box. The seller recently sold the ani-com Scar Predator for over $2,300 so good luck to the buyer on that one. Like I said they have been good to deal with so I don't hold any grudges,
Here you go, closer pictures of the body and head for inspection, could this be the first ever imitation AVP Celtic Predator? now that's probably worth more than the ani-com Scar.
Pls name the seller. This is define a con job
