Yikes. Marty is a $270 MAX type of figure in this day and age. There's nothing about it that warrants being more than $300.

It seems understandable considering their baseline price nowadays, which seems like it's about $250, you throw in the giant chunk of plastic that is Einstein for $50, and I bet this figure comes in at $299.99 at SSC.

Hot Toys prices in Japan are generally retailed higher. So maybe expect this to be 50 to 70USD less if it comes in the US.

Yeah the Japanese go crazy for cult stuff. So I could also see it cheaper for the rest of the world. Fingers crossed.

Hope the dog doesn't come with it. Don't need him or the higher price.

Wait, so is Retro Sapiens a new line by Hot Toys or just their way of referring to re-releases with some updates?

Honestly it’s cool that they’re doing Marty again, but since I already have it I’m not sure if a new sculpt and Einstein make it worth it enough to double dip. Even though I would really like Einstein. Hopefully we get a part one Doc too.
Toys Sapiens is just the name of the store in Japan, I think Retro Sapiens might be a sister store or something. Still Hot Toys.

Apparently that Marty is 35,000 JPY or about $320 USD.

Yeah this is what I was going to say. If you shop at Hobby Link Japan or other sites you'll come across Hot Toys and they're the most expensive MSRPs for Hot Toys on the planet. Like the No Way Home Spider-Man is $332 there: Movie Masterpiece - Fully Poseable Figure: Spider-Man: No Way Home - Spider-Man (Black & Gold Suit Version)

Nice point. So rough comparison means $332 Japan vs $270 SS. Therefore roughly $50-60 difference.

So Bleah's estimate seems about right. Expect SS to be around $250-260 which seems about right in this day and age. Plus perhaps what Sideshow will decide to add on it.

I don't even remember there being a dog in the movie, but granted I didn't really care enough to notice.
Really? He’s in a good portion of the mall scenes. He’s actually in all three movies. Not sure if its the same dog, but there’s versions of Einstein/Copernicus (Doc’s dog in 1955) in all the films.

I've seen the first movie once, can't remember anything that happens honestly apart from some prom thing

Cant really see a reason to pick up this new Marty fig, maybe if it came with an alternate 1955 outfit + 55 hairstyle, accessories then I might be tempted.

I have the first one and that looks just as good as this 2.0 version. Biff and a part I Doc is what I would like to see.

Man, what's it like to have only seen BTTF once...
Jesus how do you go through life and see any of them once?

Lots of posts lately from people with such opposite opinions of great things. It's kind of scary, and mostly trolling I hope.
Not trolling, just not into it. Bored me to death along with Indiana Jones.

I don't think it's trolling. A lot of these movies are almost 40 years old. Put yourself in the 80s or 90s and ask yourself, were you watching 40 year old films? 😬

In school on the last day before breaking up for Christmas one of my teachers had rented two videos to show to the class: Back to the Future and Santa Claus the Movie.

We opted to watch BTTF twice and skip the other one. lol
