I'll be honest, I very much doubt this will ever happen, myself, but I fail to see what Death Race, Akira, Tron, or, even, the '89 Batmobile have to do with anything outside of being vehicles. All vehicles were not created equal. Would I want a Delorean or an Ecto-1, or, even, an '89 Batmobile? Absolutely, but having one or all of those is not going to fill the void left by the '66 Batmobile, and, for people who bought the figures, neither will the Herocross car.

Is it a nice Batmobile? I'm sure it's wonderful, but, if we're being honest here, there are probably dozens of equally nice versions of Barris' car made in other scales, but the thing of it is that they aren't in this scale and they aren't this particular product, which is what Hot Toys promoted the hell out of and then failed to produce, so, speaking frankly, the Monster, the Herocross, the Lightcycle, and the '89 Batmobile, nice as they may be, are completely irrelevant to this thread.

It's like me going into a steakhouse that refuses to sell steak and telling people about a great pizza joint across the way. Maybe somebody decides to settle on Pizza, but it's not going to do a damn thing to help the people who want steak. My advice: let it lie. I'll be pleasantly surprised if this thing ever sees the light of day, but I've pretty much come to terms with the fact that it's dead as a doornail, but, if others still want to hope for it, what's it matter? In the meantime, all those other vehicles you listed have their own threads.

Love keyboard tough guys. Start your own thread and stop trolling. Pretty sad imo. Your acting like a punk child.

Not edgy at all. But your point is completely irrelevant. You wanna talk about those vehicles, go to the threads for those vehicles. What's so hard about that :huh

I personally wrote the '66 Batmobile off during SDCC. With the anniversary of the show and no product shown during sdcc, I figured HTs had pretty much scrapped the project. Once BatToys reported that Ed was told that HTs scrapped the project and I personally confirmed that Ed is reporting this, I figured it was a done deal.

But I also know that Hot Toys can't be trusted. Wouldn't be the first, second or third time they have said one thing and did another...so if nothing, I am still hopeful. Hopeful in a way that it's possible albeit not probable.

The thing is, they haven't officially cancelled it. Just told some VIPs that they cancelled it. They probably did but it doesn't hurt to hope...hence why the thread is still alive.

I just hope they give the license up so another company can show it some love.

Last official word (in interview) was 'encountered technical difficulties for production and waiting to solve it'
Everything after was 'My brother's cousin's grandpa said this - type of rumer...:dunno

So there you go

not sure if this will make it better or worse for some of you guy
but thought id bring this to your attention ,a super talented guy on the mego boards has been working on a true mego scale tv batmobile for a few years ,and some of his attention to detail is staggering ,not sure on its status atm ,but i think he was intending to make a limited run for sale ,not sure if when completed it could be enlarged somehow ,but thought some may find hope and interest in his project
