Fans wrote: What an outstanding prototype! There are so many details that are done correctly that I’m totally floored. As an 1966 Batmobile accuracy nut and a builder of 1:1 scale cars, I really appreciate that Hot Toys has gone all out with this car. There are dozens and dozens of things that Hot Toys did that are fantastic, but these were some that very happily surprised me:
The detectascope appears to be dead on
Nice to see the cane tips on the steering wheel
The seats look good
The Batphone looks great
They included the four bolts and the front windshield corner brackets
The inner door trim looks fantastic
The overall shape looks great
I’m totally thrilled with the car as is, however–and please take these suggestions as intended: constructive criticism only--if there’s still an opportunity to alter the car, here are some to check out (I have combined some earlier comments from Futurabat (Kevin) and others into one list to make it easier in case Hot Toys takes a peek at this thread):
Driver side front amber batray lens needs to be slanted more
Remove the reflectors from the amber bat ray lenses
Remove the lawn sprinklers in the front grilles
Remove the red lights from the front grilles
Remove the silver speakers behind the front grilles
The "cable cutter" blade is about half the length it should be. Maybe make it spring activated?
The Radir wheel spokes need to be deeper set
The Radir wheels should be single ribb, not tri ribb
The Radir wheels should appear to be polished chrome
The door bat is a little too large–the red area is where the white outline should be
The wheel bats need white outlines
The batbeam antenna grid should be yellow
The aerial antennae/antlers are well shaped, but too small, and the red lights on them should only be the upper half of the tear drops, not the entire tear drop
The beacon cage is too small and the taper is not wide enough at the bottom–it cuts into the antlers
Missing gear shift and turn indicator dash lights?
Fire extinguisher is missing the bat sticker?
The seat buckets will need to be chromed.
Missing the silver disk under the Homing Receiver Scope knob?
The bat turn lever rod needs to be a little thicker to match the T handle
The rear package tray louvers appear to be backwards? Are there 14 louvers?
The front and rear windshield edges need to lean a little more
The rear windshields look too far away from the front windshields–they should be 27" apart at the top of the door; in scale that would be 4.5"
The rear windshields do not meet the arch as they should–the shape needs to be changed where it meets the arch
It appears the rear windshield arch section doesn’t widen enough at the rear most edge
It appears the arch doesn’t widen enough at the rear most edge–should be 15"-ish, or 2.5" in scale
The rings around the bases of the triple rocket tubes are out of scale–they should appear to be pinch welt
The triple rocket tubes are all three too tall, and the center one is out of proportion (too tall) to the outer two–the outside tubes should be 16" on the long side, and the center tube 18.5" on the long side, or 2.666 inches and 3.083"
The rear antenna is too short and should have a tear drop base
Remove the red lights in the rear grilles
Remove the lawn sprinklers from the rear grilles
I’m not thrilled with the longer season two rocket exhaust tube, but it is very well done.
The parachute packs are the wrong color, should be wrinkled, size, and shape, They should be black. cloth?
Suspension should be lower.
Make the bottom chassis frame exactly like the Lincoln Futura. Touch of fake rust on the frame? Plenty of reference on 1966batmobile.com
Exhaust should be shorter like how it appeared on the First Season.
Nose paint sides did not touch in a point. There was a gap.
Nice options would be deployed open parachutes and the Bat Ram.
I’m sure this was a simple oversight due to the SDDC deadline: the sides of the wing scallops should also receive striping paint, as should the end of the rocket exhaust turbine tube
Again, I am absolutely thrilled that Hot Toys is making this happen. I can’t wait to buy at least one of these! Hot Toys, if you are looking for input on accuracy, you have certainly come to the right place. The top ten or so 1966 Batmobile experts on the planet can be found here.
