I'm surprised you haven't come along a said "why didn't they give him a gun to kill everyone" since he had one of those back then too.:ohbfrank:

If he had a gun in any of his "origin" movies (Burton's Batman or even Nolan's Begins), I wouldn't be all tittybaby about it. I actually like the fact that (at least until September :monkey1) he's grown away from using them and despises them. As far as killing his villains, I think it goes to show Batman's naivete. The fact that he continually catches them and they escape and go right back to the same behavior shows that they can't be cured. So indirectly, he's allowing more innocents to die by not killing them. Something I've never quite understood about his morals.

It's the only DC animated film I've liked so far. I mean I enjoyed New Frontier and All-Star Superman, but I can honestly say the only one I truly like is Under the Red Hood.

Then again, I can't stand cartoons anymore for some reason, so that may also factor in.

Probably watching this today. It's been sitting on the shelf and my kids have been nagging me to put it on. :lol

Fits in perfect with this discussion.

Me personally, I liked it.

But then again, I also like this :lol

No way is the TDK and Begins scores better than Elfman's... there is nothing that you can identify as "Batman" with what Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard did.

Now don't get me wrong, I like the score from TDK but it's nothing near as awesome as what Elfman gave us for the 89 and Returns. TDK main theme is not even close to saying "hey, that's Batman's theme!"... it's too industrial with no substance and it never really goes anywhere, musically speaking.

And i am sure with the "Man Of Steel" coming out we will get a brand new Superman theme, and it wont scream "Superman!" like the one John Williams gave us.

Something about the way Williams and Elfman handle their scores, it's as if it's another lead actor in the film... it to me, completes and identifies the films.

Just YouTube any role he's every played with an American accent. The lisp is there. :cuckoo:

Its there but not all that. People act like he sounds like Jim Carrie in Cable Guy or something. And by the way I was only asking a question I wasn't denying he had one smart ass.

Batman gives some bull____ reason (despite Jason Todd's very compelling argument) on why he wont kill Joker in this video .

You probably don't want to watch that one with the kids. It's not really appropriate for kids. At least PG-13.

As long as it's not excessively gory, borderline porn, too strong of an adult theme, etc., I let my kids dictate what they can handle and what they can't. My daughter sat through and actually enjoyed Del Toro's Wolfman despite my ill-advisement (and she was 4 at the time).

That pretty much goes for all of them though. In the end, it makes every single superhero who doesn't kill look kind of stupid. Obviously these characters should be looked at as if they were real and have common sense. It's simply amazing that Batman doesn't kill anyone really anymore, and how the police never sneak a bullet into joker's head after putting him in handcuffs. Seriously, If I were Gordon and Joker shot my daughter, and took pictures of her naked, I would've killed him on sight. Screw that "you'll become like them if you kill/you're no better than them" bulls#!+

Nah, death is too quick. I would've broken his back, tortured him rectally with a baton and let him sit there in the cold soundproofed cell, naked, bleeding, and alone, humiliated. I believe in the Punisher philosophy, where the punishment must fit the crime.

Yeah, my parents used to let me watch horror and action flicks when I was a wee lad (around 5 years old), and I turned out alright. But, I had to wait until I was 12 before I could watch Die Hard, because it had too much swearing :rotfl.

In other words, Batman was saying "Look Jason, I know he ____ed you up, but I'm not to kill him because It's...not...right? Anyway, he'll break out and kill alot more people, but I still can't do it. I know for a fact that he'll break out like he did the last 4000 times, but I can't kill him, and neither can the gotham police...please forgive my stupidity."

I'd castrate him, make him watch me split his fingers apart from each other, smash his feet and pelvis with a sledgehammer, put superglue in his eyes for fun, pour salt into every wound, cut his tounge out to stop the excessive screaming, (theres so much to do...I don't know when to stop)

Well, Batman was never the type to take the law into his own hands. But, the reason for that in the video was quite crap-tacular.

ON another note, I still wonder why Nolan made joker normal. He could at least made Joker suffer from a severe skin pigmentation disease. The disease could've made his skin whiter than Michael Jackson, and maybe he could've gone crazy from feeling like an outcast and being rejected by society for his looks? Maybe going crazy and letting go of everything was the only way he could been at peace with himself?

An example

He could've just said "It's no good/use, I can't do it!" like Snake did during the Grey fox/metal gear/liquid snake segment on mgs1. :lol

Well, Grey Fox was Snake's friend, and he couldn't find the resolve to take down Metal Gear Rex with and RPG and sacrifice Fox in the process :lol. The Joker, on the other hand, Batman could have lost it a little, and show some anger, some sort of emotion. That entire segment from Under the Red Hood was just laughable.

I know, but I put that to give a shout out to Metal Gear since I saw you had a quote in your sig:hi5:.
