Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

Clooney was the most ridiculous choice ever for Batman IMHO.
He just did his smug grin and acted badly as only Clooney can throughout.
Awful.

lol, like you are saying Clooney is a bad actor because he played in that crap movie?

First, that movie was so crap that even Jack Nicholson, considered as one of the best actors of all time based in his Oscar nominations + wins, would look ridiculous in it.
Second, Clooney is a decent actor, imo.

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

a 1/6th Barris Batmobile from HT would be epic(Especially if it had working sirens and lights.)
Would be Epic:
M Icon Adam West as Batman
-Authentic likeness to Adam West
-Silk Cape and cowl for alternate display
-Fully accurate costume
-William Shakespeare Bust
-Red telephone w/display case
-Foldable diorama with metal pole and nameplate
-Alternate Adam West portrait
-smoking jacket
-Ascot
-Shirt
-Slacks
-shoes
-pipe

yeah, well as epic as that would be, majority of the Batman lovers out there prefer the Anton Furst Batmobile aka the Keaton Batmobile aka the Burton Batmobile aka the Batmobile with the Honda Civic headlights :)

No, I'm saying Clooney is a bad actor who appeared in a crap movie.

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

Probably a little late to the conversation here but count me in as a Batman/Batman Returns fan. While I ultimately prefer a "no killing" Batman, given his early history and Kane's involvement (and I like Burton's movies, generally), these are pure win for me. Can't wait for the Hot Toys figures. If they end up making the villains too, those will be hard to resist...

While I enjoy the new movies as well, the Burton/Keaton movies are the definitive live action Batman performances for me. I think I prefer the Bruce Timm/Kevin Conroy Batman more than anything else, but that doesn't make for a good Hot Toys figure.

Batman Forever and Batman and Robin were both garbage, in my books, though. I would be more likely to buy a Hot Toys Adam West (which, now that I think of it, might be kind of cool in its own right...).

:goodpost::goodpost::goodpost: Every word. :)

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

I thought he was great in from dusk till dawn.

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

I agree good actor just not the best choice for batman, but to be honest there's not a actor that could've saved that movie.

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

I'm on the crap bandwagon myself. He's had a very very adequately lucky career imho. He never seems to impress me, but just rather fills a gap for 'the guy they were looking for to play that character'.

Used to love him as Batman when I was a kid and still dig those movies in a fantasy kind of way.

i agree, i still watch B&R when i get bored and need that funny kick. that movie is so hilariously bad, and it was the one batman movie i remember seeing in the theaters as a kid (although im sure i saw Forever as well). but yet it had very high production values so it was definetly entertaining. arnold was great and clooney to me will always be batman in that funny silly way. ive also never been too impressed by him in other movies. i honestly dont know how he has a career especially after batman. maybe its his looks, maybe its women who love the guy, who knows. but i havent seen him in a whole movie ever beyond B&R.

on the plus side, he had one awsome batsuit. if they ever made a 1/6 version, i'd be tempted. him and kilmer had the sleekest looking outfits that minus the nipples looked amazing. beats the hell out of the suits bale wore thats for sure. im a fan of the classic muscle suit, none of that robocop armor stuff.

For every one of those I could list multiple crap roles. But I couldn't be bothered. Glad you like him though.

I could do the same thing with Gene Hackman. Talented actor, but he could be a lot pickier about the films he chooses. Robert De Niro also does a LOT of _____ty films, but when he brings his A game he's a brilliant actor. Jeremy Irons was in Dungeons & Dragons, which was so crappy I thought Uwe Boll might have directed it.

Clooney has talent. And he too has been in some crap.

hehe indeed, these jokers dont know a good actor when they see one.
Or it could be they never heard (and most likely never saw) the movies you just summed up!

Clooney is a chill and classy actor.
No big mouth, no attitude.
Its a kind of subtleness some of the boardmembers here fail to see.

3 acadamy nominations and 1 win, can't be that bad.
I would suggest that some here, get a bit more familiar with the work Clooney has done.

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

Clooney is a great actor. Love his Gecko and Ocean characters. But he sucked as Batman.

Some people's opinions of what constitutes bad 'Acting' on this site are beginning to depress me. Clooney is great.
