Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

Oh yeah, I love Batman Returns. In fact I'd say of the six Batman films to date, Returns is the most emotionally involved. The Penguin is a tragic character, as well as Catwoman. As a kid the final scene with Penguin would always get to me, and even now when I watch it the music gives me goosebumps.

I also like that whole "animal people" aesthetic that the film contains. "The Bat, The Cat and the Penguin". I also like how the villains, in this case Catwoman and Penguin, mirror Batman/Bruce Wayne's personality.

Parred with the visual effects, soundtrack, and art direction (I'm not a huge fan of Burton really, but the black and white/snow covered Batman emblem/Gotham is a great touch), Batman Returns is one of my favorite Batman films. It resonates with me as a "Batman movie", a film, and a piece of childhood.

It's not my favorite Batman film but then again, I really don't have a favorite.

In fact,

I would rate the Batman movies as follows...

1. Begins / TDK - I love them equally, sometimes I like one better, sometimes the other.
2. Batman 89
3. Returns
4. Forever... semi poop
5. B&R... poop

My list is similar except four (Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight) of them are interchangeable. For instance, in the last couple of months I've been in "Batman '89 mode", even before this Hot Toys announcement. Other times I'm interested in a good origin story, I watch Batman Begins. It just depends on what mood I'm in.

Before TDK came out, I always felt Begins was my favorite, then around the time of TDK hype I went back and "rediscovered" Batman '89 and it was my favorite because of that whole "Batman vs. Joker on film" dynamic. Then of course the trailers, the actual film, and promotion of TDK made IT my favorite for a few years.

I'm a huge Batman fan, and can watch and enjoy any of them really. While Batman Forever doesn't rank as high as the other four, I still can appreciate and watch it.

"If I'm going to have a favorite Batman film, I prefer it to be multiple choice!"

Yep i enjoy "somehow" Bats Forever specially Nicole Kidman at her finest momentum, the only problem is the Neon-Gotham City, "Batmobile in a vertical direction mode", and of course the "Two-Face Tommy Lee Jones Joker wanna be performance" is horrible!!.....Jim Carrey Riddler is ok, is actually a homage to Frank Gorshin performance!..........I still hate the Trick o' treat moment outside the mansion between Rid and two face, horrible!!

My list of favorites:
1. Batman 1989:hi5:
2. The Dark Knight:clap
3. Begins:yess:
4. Returns:)
5. Forever:dunno
6. Bat-credit card, "don't leave the cave without it" Jesus!!! Christ!!!:monkey4

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

^^I know what you mean about the trick or treat scene. The damn mansion is way out in nowhere, and Alfred doesn't get suspcious of kids trick or treating?

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

I dont know how I should interpret this email I just received from Hot Toys:

Hello,

Thanks for your support and interest in Batman(1989) of Hot Toys.
Your suggestion on making a batmobile of Batman (1989) will be forwarded to our production team for reference.

Please keep visit our official website and Facebook page to get our most updated news.

Thanks,
BN/ Hot Toys Ltd

I just was asking if they would be making the 1989 Batmobile since they already anounced the 1989 Batman.........
And that a lot of collectors on boards are craving for the Batmobile to go with Batman....

If they would say "Yes" now already, it would be prime news for all the collectors since they should know I could leak this and it would be far too soon to leak such great collectors-news.
So a Yes was not realistic to expect, I think.

But the fact they dont say "No", does that mean its a possibility? :)
Also the fact that they say that they "be forwarded to our production team for reference" could that be interpreted as a "ow we actually are planning to make it, but just cant confirm it now??????:pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray:

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

Anyone else hoping for a standard Jack Napier just for an untouched Nicholson sculpt?

That would be cool -but I don't think we're gonna get a standard Jack sculpt. I wouldn't mind a Jack Napier figure though.
