Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

hahaha yes indeed...

It's actually quite cool how many nods there are to Nicholson's performance / 89 Batman within TDK.

Examples
- In 89 Batman when Bruce enters VV's apartment he makes a comment along the lines of 'nice place...plenty of space'. When Joker enters, he says the same thing

In TDK, it is a little more subtle: First we see Bruce coming into the Harvey fundraiser, he takes Rachel out to the balcony, when she leaves, he tosses out his drink. When Joker enters the same fundraiser later on, he also tosses out his drink.

- Then the end scene, in 89 Batman obviously Joker falls to his death, and Batman does not try to save him (and he arguably causes Joker's death directly/indirectly)

In TDK of course after tossing Joker over the edge he saves him. I think this was deliberate in contrast to 89 Batman which is more Miller's The Dark Knight Returns inspired and Batman has no issues killing. Whereas, Nolan's version is firmly of the no killing variety

There's more instances too which are escaping my mind right now

They also come into the scene looking and asking for Harvey Dent. "Where is Harvey Dent?"

Then there's the whole Batwing vs. Joker "come on you gruesome sonofa_____" in the street in '89 and the Batpod vs. Joker "come on hit me" in TDK.

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

And instead of taking Batman down with one .38 bullet, TDK Joker takes him down . . . just standing there . . .

Re: HT Batman 1989 Coming

I think Batman was in both movies too. :dunno

good catch! i also noticed they had lampposts in both the 89 and TDK movies. also, joker was a carbon-based life-form in both.

in spoiler tags for nam. your local blockbuster called and said 89 batman had finally come in. get your betamax machine ready.

P.S.
FYI: Blockbuster's gone the way of the betamax, abolished from 90% of the planet after being financially gutted by Netflix.

You can't watch a Warner Brothers movie without your Warner Brothers ball cap.
