Gonna have to disagree.

The HT one has way better shoulders and chest. EB chest area just droops down.

The EB cowl is also too sharp especially around the mouth.

How hard is it to take their own 1/4th mold and shrink it?? They did it for DX19 but why not this?

Their 1/4th cowl and suit mold is actually more accurate than even Enterbay.

Unfortunately this will still probably sell out before any discounts like always.
Yeah that's a no for me. The 1/4 is better than this but it's nowhere near better or more accurate than the EB

Even in these photos it's obvious the Hot Toys suit's chest is way more **** like than armor like, the bat logo is wrong and not the design used in the film, which is a major miss to me and the overall height to width of the chest area is off. The cod piece looks like a diaper that needs changing.

The cowl on the Hot Toys is one of their better results but it's a little stylized. The ears are too angular, too short, and too close together, the brow is too predominant and the angle of the brows seems off somehow, the base of the neck is entirely wrong. The eyes are brown too.

The Enterbay isn't perfect but it calls to mind the screen used cowl way more for me.

No updates. Credit to RF_Toys on insta. Hope they don’t mind my sharing;

Wow. This was a great figure when I got it 14.5 years ago. Today, eeeh.

As others have said, I can't believe Hot Toys is releasing this and the amazing Batman Forever at the same time with a straight face.

agreed with this.

I've never owned the HT 1/4 but I did have the EB, and other than the paint quality of the mouthpieces and eyes being incredible IMO, I feel like there was an unfinished feeling to the rest of it. So while the HT may be inaccurate, I feel like the overall quality is better which I think for some helps hide or makes it more difficult to see the inaccuracies when the final product is an overall nicely finished and, for the most part, well put together piece.

I mentioned something similar to this in the Clint Eastwood thread earlier where sometimes Sideshow can be more accurate than other companies in some aspects, but their finished product feels like a downgrade in quality that I'd rather have the inaccurate but better quality item if I had to choose. Of course, ideally, we want accuracy and quality together.

I'm usually a "**** happens, they can't all be winners" type of guy, but this one is a genuine head scratcher. I'd argue releasing this figure, with these issues, in 2022 is the kind of thing that damages a brand, especially considering the unusually high number of misses HT has had in recent memory.

The QS009 isn't perfect, but the issues with it are minor, and it's still a great figure overall. If you want a good Begins Batman in your collection, I'd go for that one. The prices on the secondary market are pretty reasonable.

I never had a batman figure in my collection and always wanted the Begins figure. When they re-released this I ordered it through Sideshow as I was sure they'd make even minor improvements to the head/neck etc. Now I see this and the figure is pretty much paid for 🤦🏻‍♂️

Guess I'll be getting a new head and cape at some point then.

Not just that, but they’ve updated the TDK/TDKR suit multiple times.

I can’t believe a Begins Batman hasn’t had moveable eyes, it’s insane to me. BvS cowl and Forever cowl prove you can implement it with a Batman with a sculpted neck and they just choose not to innovate.

They could have shrunk down the QS 1:4 Begins and gave it moveable eyes and new mouth plates, but nah, too much work. Insulting.

Someone else stated it before, but the cost for this is really unreasonable compared to the all new Sonar Batman. Funny that they launched at the same time. The very first hot toys Batman vs the most recent hot toys Batman. They’re ridiculous.
Is it really any work at all to shrink a sculpt. I assume this is a digital sculpt and I dont get why they would not do that

I worry with the 1/4 how the material will hold up

Because as much as some of us adore the Begins look, the general audience and most collectors only really care about TDK suit.

The one they can pair with the countless Joker, Bane, Two Face and Selina figures out there.

Begins is always an afterthought sadly.

Wouldn't quite go that far but agree the Begins suit is much better of the two.

I'm just being realistic. Apart from Enterbay have there been any great Begins figures or statues? With TDK we've had countless versions from Hot Toys, Prime 1, Queen Studios, JND.

InArt will make TDK Batman to go with their Joker figures. In time I suspect they'll do Bane and Selena to.

Yeah undoubtedly TDK is the most universally praised of the trilogy, but it's a bit of a bummer BB doesn't get much more recognition. I think SS just released their PF statue, and the last previous figure was the HT 1/4 (?) For the smaller scaled figures, I like Neca's (plus it's mostly downscaled from their 1/4 figure too) and Medicom Mafex's from some time back. It'd be great if more figures representing BB were made, just imagine a Ra's, a new Scarecrow with Cillian Murphy unmasked head sculpt, a true updated batsuit..

Admittedly, as I excited as I get for most figures, I can't quite get as excited for this rerelease (of a much older figure). Of course, ideally, a new, truly revamped Begins Batman would be the best, but alas..

That's what I can't get. Why not produce definite Ras (which was never produced, but they obviously got the license on Leams' likeness for SW) and Crane (with both scarecrow and Crane headsculpts). Why not make a completely new BB suit, even if copying 1/4 effort?
