Sorry, I wasn't quite clear there. What I meant was the grand total. The set costs about $19 more from AmiAmi, but their shipping to EU (EMS + tracking) is $43 cheaper than Toys2.

dev, do you have to pay taxes when ordering from Canada?

No I don't, a reason I use Toys2 - didn't even pay customs on The Tumbler, can you believe that? It kinda helps compensate for their high shipping.

I could display both with the rest of the family :hi5:

Yeah, I suppose thats true. Can't win it all I guess. Have you seen the prices forbiddenplanet.com are charging for new Hot Toys pre-orders? £200+ and it's usually £7 - £10 for shipping.

wow I should not complain and shut my trap .. you guys in Europe and Aussieland are much worse off!

You saw what they think the RRP should be? daylight robbery. £289 = $457.

Yes, for those it's not related to this topic but regardless these shops in the UK selling these figures, total rip off.

My Scarecrow arrived today. Initial thoughts - love the head sculpt (sculpted was SO the right way to go) and paint apps are awesome as you would expect (those hoping to do a Crane will need a spare set of hands - the ones included in this set are very realistically dirty).

But this is a slightly strange release as far as HT goes. There is a lot of attention to detail in some parts (eg tiny blood vessels in the eyes) yet not in others (the little bit of hair poking out the back of the mask is the same colour as the mask itself). This extends to the costume - the straightjacket is great with posable wire running along the bottom of it and nicely weathered, yet the underlying suit is very ordinary. The amount of fabric around the head, combined with the mask sculpt means almost any movement will pop the head off (I haven't re-dressed him yet to see if that solves the problem), and the boots are a very hard rubber, meaning no ankle movement at all. There is a lot of extra fabric to try and stuff into these boots too, which will make undressing and re-dressing him a pain.

Am I glad he's there to add to my villains? Definitely, and there's no doubt that I would still buy him if I had to do it all over again, but it's definitely missing some of that attention to detail that HT normally provides.

Helpful review! I do think the head looks great in the pics provided, but I feel HT does have the resources to do a fabric version and still do it right, I think they could have experimented.

And I agree the suit looks VERY ordinary, from pictures i've seen at least!

Perhaps they did experiment and weren't happy with the results. I won't pretend you could be fooled that it was fabric, but I am very happy at the fine detail and scale-accurate folds, etc, they achieved.

After playing around with him a bit, I would definitely suggest those who want to display him with the straight jacket remove the shirt and tie. You can't see them with it on and it just puts an extra level of fabric in there that isn't needed. I'm getting much more reliable movement out of the neck now, and the straightjacket, which is obviously meant to be tight across the chest, fits better without the shirt under there

Edited to add: Those of you who love that "new toy smell" are going to LOVE this product!

Great review. How about some pics without the suit underneath.

Very true, the suit does look ordinary, but I don't see that as a negative myself. It's true to what he was wearing in Batman Begins.
I know some people may say that because of the price they would expect more, but from a plain grey suit what more exactly could we expect?
The tailoring and the fit both seem fine to me. With a small amount of futzing it looks really great on the shelf and fits in perfectly with the other HT figures.
Maybe this is why HT are reluctant to produce suited figures* because thay are underwhelming to most people.
Anyway, as with most things, I think they always look better in hand and that's certainly the case with Scarecrow for me.

* did I make that up, or have I read that somewhere before? I'm pretty sure I have lol

Hahah maybe - but also just comparing to HT's own products, like the Dent suit as I mentioned, it seems a little cheap looking! Anyway, if I get this it won't matter in the slightest, gonna be wearing the straightjacket

Yeah, I agree. The Dent suit is nice, and the materials on the Police suit with the DX are great. I don't care for the blue tie on this one much.

Not that it's very likely, but I would be happy just snagging a headsculpt from this and skipping everything else.

This shot is great...really sells the creepy factor with all three figures. :clap
