Just opened mine a few hours ago.
Oh man.
The box and hot toys mailer were in perfect condition, as they should be as I picked the pack out option. I cracked that baby open and hoped for the best and expected the worst.
I couldn't get over all the plastic wrappings on the figure. The belts, the legs, the heads, it was all over the place. The first wrapping I took off was the Bale headsculpt. It's fine but, as with others, mine has a few shiny spots. It's not as bad or as noticeable as others, but it still pissed me off. I'm almost certain that this happens due to the adhesive of the plastic wrap. It's almost like tape.
I understand wrapping it in plastic, but why with the adhesive? Hot Toys, you so dumb. I don't recommend keeping these MISB or keeping the covers on the figure in the long run. I fear that will damage the figure.
Anyway, that's the least of my problems.
The head is alright, I took it out, no problems. Next thing I inspected was the body. No rubber deformities to be found thankfully. The rubber suit, though cheap, is in perfect condition.
I have the boot problem though. My figures left boot/foot just sits there. The ball and socket doesn't really snap into place to pose the foot, no clicking. Sure enough I looked inside the boot and there's damaged plastic.
After this, I thought I lucked out pretty good. A few "sweat" patches on my Bale sculpt, no biggie. Same boot problem everyone else has, that's fine. No rubber deformities, a clean cowled headsculpt etc.
Well, I go to pose the leg of the left knee of the figure and notice it doesn't really move like the other joints. If you bent it it would strangely move right back into position because of the rubber. It was really loose, almost like a loose tooth and it wobbled back and forth. I went to go leave it as is but it snapped at the knee. The knee was literally just hanging there.
At this point, I was THIS close to just taking the whole thing and smashing it against the wall. I was tired for one, but instead of going ape ____ I laughed it off, put it back and the box and went to bed.
Woke about an hour ago and pulled the leg out. It's broken from the knee joint, down. Can't really describe it. There was a piece of the joint rattling around in the upper leg, but thankfully it came out with no problems. It looks like the knee joint was hanging by a thread of plastic. There are these little disc rings inside and they're so ____ing cheap as is the whole true type body itself.
Be careful.
I think it's fixable though. I just need a replacement left leg from the knee down. I'm sure most of you guys know what I mean.
I'll get pics up this afternoon after I call Sideshow. I'm really pissed, but I think it's salvageable. Don't want to risk getting a worse figure considering the rubber suit is in great shape and the headsculpts are fine.
Here's a little point of reference so you guys can see where I'm coming from before I sit down and take pics.
It's broken from the knee up. The peg joint of the knee. It came right out. I guess I need a new true type lower leg.
Be careful with your figures guys.
EDIT:
Just noticed that the stupid, "DOOOOOOOOOO" mouth piece (man is that a ____ty faceplate, who's going to use this thing?) has a slight blemish under the mouth. Bah ____ it, I'm not going to use that face plate anyway.
