I think I see a left boot that I could have used. :monkey1

Just added Lance's cape to my figure, GREAT cape. Only custom I'll probably ever allow myself to buy. It beats the hell out of the garbage Hot Toys packed in. I could live with the OC cape (wasn't about to break the pegs), but this new Begins one sucks. After jumping through all the hoops and waiting for replacements I finally have the figure assembled as a regular Batman. The head was a pain to get on but I got it. Those cape clasps fit in but not all the way, I think I'm just not going to use them. Accuracy aside, I think Batman looks better without them.

Now my once faulty figure is perfect. I'm seriously considering another figure if I can get it MISB under $250.

Right now I have a nice line up of Takara Batman, the OC TDK Begins suit Batman and this latest Toy Fairs Begins version with lforigno cape. Good stuff, I'm content.

Okay, so the process is finally over for this figure.

I received the replacement body yesterday (the rubber suit/true type/both boots). It wasn't as good as my original so I took the lower left TT leg from the knee joint down and swapped it out. Then I put the replacement left boot/foot on and I now have the perfect figure, no problems.

After going to town on the replacement body (see pics above) I really started to wonder why we pay $200 plus for these damn things, they're not that great, certainly not worth the prices we pay. I couldn't believe how easily the ____ty, brittle pieces broke apart. Then that rubber suit. It stretches with ease, I did it to the point where you could see light right through it. It was really tacky and after a few stretches and cuts it lost it's form quickly.

I went at it for less than a minute and as you can see from the damage above, there was really nothing to it to begin with. What a POS. Honestly, we all claim that these are "high-end" collectibles but are they that much different from the crappy "baby toys" that are available at retail.

Yeah, Hot Toys has nice headsculpts and accessories, I'll give them that but the quality doesn't equate to the price anymore. F'em.

Anyway, I gotta hand it to Sideshow, they're fantastic. I can't get over how great their customer service is and how helpful their employees are. This is a stark contrast to ____ing Hot Toys who don't give the customer the benefit of the doubt when it comes to damage and replacements.

With that said, BRING ON MORE HOT TOYS FIGURES! :yess:

That's a really good point maybe seeing how fragile these things are will cause people to see them in a new light. and not one that will help sales.

Or maybe we'd still buy them if they were made out of icing sugar.

DiFabio's post got me all excited for the different possibilities of how I would destroy my body. I got a few good idea, then I realized I wasn't getting a replacement body, and just got caught up.

Now I'm kind of disappointed.

I would never destroy it... even If I was getting a replacement. It would be like getting a pile of money and tearing it up.. pointless. eBay is always there for faulty stuff with people making customs etc. I would love that rubber suit if it wasn't all... Y'know, destroyed :p

Sad but I feel the same way. The scary thing also to consider is before there was a good chance you would not only make your money back but end up with something that only increased in value. Now with so many re-releases and new and better figures constantly coming down the pipe... The value might not hold up. Hopefully I'm wrong... I honestly trick myself into affording these figures by believing that the worst I will ever do is maybe lose $30/40 tops. But the gamble is really becoming apparent at $220+

PS - happy for ya that it all worked out in the end!

I have no information about the suit. All I know is that I bought it from a member here, and that it is no longer available.

This was my painter: https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/member.php?u=12262

And this is what I got so far for close up shots:

Sorry about the crappy lighting. I hope to take better shots in the near future. :peace
IMO the perfect Bale sculpt lies somewhere between this one and Hot Toys' version.

While I agree that HT are over priced, their products are worth more than the sum of their parts.

Name your price... I WANT that figure you have... NOW!

Please

I'll put you in my will. :1-1:

Yes. :lecture

:thud:

I've thought about it considering how fragile this guy seems to be. But.. :dunno

Okay, but just remember that the reverberation from your speaker will cause the figure to move a slight amount each time just before his inevitable fall. Remember this conversation.:(

Also, to Maglor; I love how that custom sculpt has the vein near Bale's eye that is so obvious to all of us collectors but not so much to the Hot Toys sculptors. Details, details, details.

So, mine arrived today and aside from the wrong faceplates (Leno and??) and accessories, i think mine is A-OK!:

Oh shoot... his kneecap is crooked, so much for him being perfect. :p

M.

Finally received mine today, since I missed the UPS guy yesterday, and I'm glad to say it has no problems. The Christian Bale head is outstanding, it looks much better in-hand than it does in pics. The only issue I have with the figure is the cape, I just can't get it to look right lol.

Mine with the custom cape.

Yes my room is dusty. Used some compressed air on him before putting back into display.

L'e sigh~
