Guys, look at the promo pics!

This figure isn't shown in any action pose. The only thing they moved are the arms. It will very likely be a very stiff figure. Museum pose, nothing else!

Do you guys genuinely play around with your HT figures though? All the HT figures I own (with the exception of TDK Joker) feel fragile, I leave them well alone! They are pretty much display pieces – if you want robust playability get a Titan figure.

It's a prototype. Of a figure that won't hit market for a year. Let's relax on calling him unposable.

The final product won't differ that drastically from the proto type....history is any indication of these type of suits 16k has a valid point regarding limited posability.

Yeah unfortunately some of these vocal actually individuals actually buy these figures to play with.

As long not hinder it's signature pose, I have no problem at all with limited articulation. TBH I dont need super poseable articulation for T800 when most of time in movie, he is just brick tank cyborg. Same as Darth Vader, just at least poseable for its signature choke pose and I have no problem with rest

They're called hot toys, not hot statues.

Interesting take but I get why folks want a figure capable of obtaining at a minimum basic poses. I mean it's on an action figure body and boast about 30 points of articulation. If folks wanted to it to just stand there they'd buy statues.

I buy Hot Toys because no one else can match the quality.

There will be no bvs statue that can match the sculpt, paint, tailoring. Unless Blitzway or EB want to go at, HIGHLY doubtful. Haven't seen PRIME's human likeness/paint quality.

It's just a matter of common sense, if it's an action figure, it's supposed to have "action".

I, for instance, like museum poses, so, some lack of articulation (the mentioned neck on this figure is a good example) doesn't bother me at all.

But understanding that the world was not made for me, and understanding that a lot of people like to pose their figures in action poses, I can understand others frustrations, even though it's not mine. It's called empathy.

Also, the usual argument "do you play with your figures", trying to shame people into a "children" status is rich coming from people in a forum discussing dolls and toys.

And finally, from a pure logical point of view, if Hot Toys start releasing museum poses "action figures". It would be ok for me, but it would decrease immensely their consumer pool. That will end up hurting the company and ultimately my own hobby.

Sorry for the rant, and I really don't want to be rash (sometimes is hard to set the tone you want, when you are not typing in your native language), but a lot of times in these foruns, it seems to me, that people are only looking at their particular way of collecting and assuming it's the "right way".

I personally don't see these as toys, they are art prices imo. They're not made to play with as they would get ruined fast!

But yeah they are big boy toys haha

I think they are almost like 1/6 scale wax works haha. I think they aren't toys, they are works of collectible art.
but I must say i agree with all of the above. Good posting.

I always cringe when I see people testing their articulation on reviews.

I like this definition. Specially since I do like to keep them in museum poses.

I do collect some other stuff too, and I always saw them all as toys. I do think that the "adult" world is quite boring. I still want the same kind of Christmas presents I wanted when I was 8 years old. :lol

This. So much this.

Good post but I disagree that it's normal for adults to buy figures to actually play with. It normally would never bother me what these people do with their figures in the privacy of their homes but when ugly visible joints are added to a figure just to please them I have a problem.

What are you guys talking about?
There's no right or wrong answer here, each collector sees his figures and does with them as he pleases.
Play with them or don't play with them, display them in extreme or in museum poses, it's all good.

Nope, and I leave them in museum pose, I was just pointing it to those people that wonder if it will move. Trust me, it won't!:)

Maybe, but strangely enough, their Superman proto is shown in action poses, and the first version was too. This fig will be like Arkham Bats. It won't be posable . The material is very thick. I'm sure they'll improve the look drastically, but I'm also sure it will be a very stiff figure.

:goodpost::exactly:

i don't think its a matter of "playing" with your hot toys, i doubt many people are flying their superman figures around the house while making space ship noises and re-enacting scenes from the movies.
for me i buy hot toys because i like pose-ability, they're action figures, they're made to have articulation to pose as you wish, otherwise i'd be into collecting statues. granted i am one of those collectors who picks a pose and sticks with it, i really dont enjoy changing them every so often, i dont care enough, but i certainly like the versatility of being able to pose them however i want.
its a fair thing to wonder about articulation when it comes to these types of figures, i tend to like dynamic poses, cant stand museum poses, they lack life and imagination, but thats just me.
