Actually, I don't really mind the tab out a little, because it doesn't cover the chest bat symbol even when he'd is fully down.

But the problem is by pushing the head all the way down.
The tab at the end of the cowl does not sit flush with the chest....

My figure's tab is not curled up like that, it stays flat.

One of Tony Mei mods is to warm the cowl then compress it down and forward a tad to get that effect in the screen shot. Pretty sure he said anyone was ok to copy that mod.

When wanting to take the wrinkles out of the robe for TFA Kylo Ren figure for anyone who has it, a good method is to give it water treatment to smoothen it out.
