Jonathan as a whole was terrible in MOS. I get wanting to protect your son, but the fact that he never came around to really help set Clark down the right path is just a missed opportunity. I know he said some things about Clark having a greater purpose or whatever, but not enough. It was his own fear and over protection that stuck with Clark most and held him back from reaching his potential.

You and I seem to agree on a lot of things. I too am a big Brosnan fan.

Brosnan was great... however he was Bond in the worst ever Bond film... Die Another Day!!!

But Bond illustrated my point beautifully and compares well to Batman and Superman as being a character that changes with the times and is portrayed differently according to those times - all three have been portrayed seriously, humourously etc. etc.
And none of these variations are correct, and none are wrong - we all have our own personal version, but we should appreciate that not everyone shares our view.

It was really just the discussion at the car after the School Bus scene, and the odd Tornado sequence. Other than that, I think this Jonathan Kent is pretty great, actually. The scene with the bullies is awesome, as is the "You ARE my son" scene.

I actually quite liked this interpretation of Jonathan Kent as a whole.

Yeah, I agree. Jor-El's hologram fulfilled that purpose much better, telling Clark to embrace his power and become a force for good.

I thought the "maybe" scene was excellent, and showed that Jonathon was just a father worried about his son, worried that if found out what would the authorities do to Clark... as a parent myself it rang true to me!

I liked Costner's Kent. He was as grounded as can be. Worried about his son and how the world would change him if they were not ready for him yet which they weren't not even in BvS till maybe the end. Kent knew his son was meant to change the world but wanted it to be for good as and when the world was ready.

I think Jor-El and Jonathan Kent each played a key role in the balance of Superman. Jor-El telling Kal he has great power on this planet, he can be a force for good. Jonathan Kent bringing the human view point to how the world will re-act to a being like Kal-el and his abilities.

Most profoundly I think was the sequence in BvS when Jonathan Kent explains the flood situation and how he thought he was a hero for saving the farm only to find out his actions put others in harms way and ended up destroying someone else's farm.

:exactly:

My precise sentiments as well.

Not sure where these are from, but just thought they looked cool. Doesn't help with my anticipation of this figure though. :lol

As much as I love the look of this figure and can't wait to get it, I kinda wish they had gone with a headsculpt like this instead. Still gonna be an awesome figure though.

Those pictures look great. I'm still on the fence about whether I should order this or not, as I already have the MoS figure. A heat vision head would've made this an instant PO.

I have all the MoS figures, but this was still a day 1 PO for me. I'm a staunch Superman fan, and while I generally prefer the overall design of the MoS suit over the BvS design, I do like his overall look in this film too.

As amazing as the sculpt on the MoS figure is, this sculpt looks every bit as amazing, if not slightly even more so. The cape at the shoulders looks vastly improved from the slightly larger traps on the MoS figure.
