Well, i like Snyder!
I liked his DCEU movies.
Great choice for Cavill. The first time I saw this guy on The Tidors, I thought: this guy should be the next Supes.
Affleck? Awesome too!
Gadot is questionable, but tolerable.

All in all, great choices.

Still, even though I liked it won't stop me from having a critical viewpoint. He got most of it wrong. The tone is wrong, the costumes are... Well, interpretations of what he thought they should look like. If it were some generic superheroes, I'd grand Snyder a 9. Being Supes And Bats, my rating goes down to 6.5.

Writing this, I haven't seen WW and don't intend to before the BR release, so I may change my mind.
Go see it - you'll really be impressed

I loved Dawn Of The Dead, 300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch(Man, i could watch Sucker Punch all day, lol. The visuals!), but although in love the visuals in MOS and in BVS, and am a major Batman and Superman fan, the movies haven't done for me what the Marvel movies have.

Yeah. That's my take. I bought MOS, Zod and Jor El and have the bootleg Faora(And the Scaletta one too), i have two of the BVS Superman, and the BVS Batman(With WW on order, and the new training version), but it just feels like a shadow of what it might have been. It needs to be more serious than the marvel films but it's almost like they drained most of the joy from it.
I'm not trying to upset anyone. I like the Marvel movies despite not being a huge Marvel fan before(For me, The DC heroes are the gods amongst men that the marvel ones try to be and mostly fail), but i am a far bigger fan of the DC universe. No-one has heroes like the DC heroes. I am hoping with Whedon taking the helm in this time of tragedy for poor Zack Snyder, we start to get back on track a bit. No disrespect to Snyder, but i am hoping to see the tone shift a bit. These are my ultimate heroes too, lol, so i want to see them done right and definitively.

I think the tone will definitely shift, but I think that was part of the plan. BvS was essentially about them coming out of the shadows, but first we had to see them there. I think JL will be much lighter but as a logical progression.

There were just some really weird style choices for the movie... like the stupid flashback at the climax where they go back 10 minutes to the way better understated watch scrne

:goodpost::lecture
Love him or hate him, Snyder brought this DCEU to life, and it's his vision that has guided it, good or bad.
Surely there will be corrections and course changes, but the foundations laid are his, and I am thankful for the uniqueness of the DCEU. I would hate to have two superhero universes that were alike in tone and execution.

:exactly:

My sentiments as well. I seem to be in the minority, but I really like what Zack has started for the DCEU and how he introduced the characters he did.

For their favorite characters though, each person has their own vision of what they think the "right" way is, as far as the way they want to see the character portrayed. There have been many versions and adaptations of these characters throughout history and if a certain universe follows a particular storyline, that doesn't make it any less invalid than another storyline from another adaptation of the character.

Sure one could prefer one version over another version, but that doesn't mean any particular version is wrong simply because it's not your vision of the way you want to see it done. Sometimes, a particular version of a character may attempt to embrace and conflate many versions of that character that has been seen over the years.

Sorry but I don't buy that the shift in tone was coming. It's good that they've found a better balance but I think the overall mixed reactions to the first three films brought about the shift.

But wasn't the end of BvS already the shift in tone? WW inspired to return, Batman not branding Lex and swearing to honour Superman in death.
Seems pretty clear to me Snyder was always using that movie as the the turning point to a more hopeful path for all these characters.

Just saw Wonder Woman this morning...

Have to say it's probably my favourite super hero film now. I welled up quite a lot, it was great to see the outstanding action that was clear but something new and awe-inspiring, to have a character so full of hope, naivety, and inspiration really made the dramatic and money shot scenes be at their fullest potential. There's two stand out moments of Wonder Woman being Wonder Woman, followed by incredibly well-directed action that looks very in keeping with Snyder's, to the point I have to believe he helped direct. Definitely going to see it again.

I think this film really brings out the reason why I love Snyder's DC films, although this one finds the best balance in total. Is that they're not afraid to explore the dark and heavy themes and really get underneath them and play on them, whereas a certain other company just scratches at it and then tells a joke. I sincerely hope this footing will be the one they carry on with.

Gal Gadot was bloody incredible, completely sold on her as Wonder Woman. And the Amazonians were great. This film deserves all the praise and all the money and attention. Felt like a fresh super hero origin story, which is hard to do after so many being done!

I almost felt asleep a few times during the film. Some parts are so boring, so boring. Also i expected it to be more dark like other DC movies, but instead it was kind of Marvelish. My wife liked it very much tho. It's really more interesting for a women due that romance stuff etc.

They ruined the characterization of Lex in every sense though... no actor would've been good in that role IMO :lol
I think Eisenberg could be redeemable if the goofy schtick is dropped the next time we see him. No weird little ticks or cheesy one liners or putting Jolly Ranchers in people's mouths (I still can't believe that actually happened). Eisenberg is a competent enough actor and if they play it off like Steppenwolf was controlling him and making him act the way he did I think he could move on from it.

Now that abomination that is Letoker we just need to pretend never ever happened and just straight up recast and never reference the person we saw in Suicide Squad again.

Just saw the movie. This is definitely the start of the DC universe!
We can only hope. But proof is in the pudding. Lame-ass Suicide Squad made massive buckets of cash. If this movie doesn't do the same then I suspect we will only see more of the mediocre, badly edited films we've seen up to this

... Oh no. Noooo, don't tell me that Wonder Woman and Chris Pine hook up!! WHY?? She's from an island full of women.

Please tell me there was at least ONE instance of lesbians kissing in this movie.

Seeing as how the costume is pretty much the same, I doubt HT will make one from this film. Maybe a Toy Fair Exclusive similar to SS Batman depending on how well it sells.

Is the head sculpt on this figure the same as the amazon version announced? I know the hair is different but curious if face is the same. Anyone know?
