Hmmm, interesting. fair enough, I can see why you think that way.

Re: Hot Toys Captain America:Civil War Captain America"Battling Version" Movie Promo

I get the photoshopped background is from the iron man fight. if you've seen the film which figure actually fits that scene better? The cap figure with the face that is in fight mode and the shield to match, or this one that has the scratched shield and stoic face? The background is just a cool look for the pictures.

The other figure has that same background in some of the images, and the figure actually fits the film in that way. This figure matches the earlier scene. Forget the background. Just look at the figure, since it doesn't actually come with the background. The battling version matches the black panther scene (hence no bloody face) and the regular version matches the final scene.

Which matches this scene. No scratches on shield and more aggressive face.

And then the battling version matches this scene, and the BP interaction

Scratches and more stoic. Less blood and bruising and dirt.

Clean shield

Cool points but having seen the movie the shield stays the same throughout. If you know what I mean without spoiling anything.

It may but that doesn't mean it was in the reference hot toys got.

Re: Hot Toys Captain America:Civil War Captain America"Battling Version" Movie Promo

I could have sworn when he dropped the shield after Tony berated at him for not deserving it, the shield was clean with no scratch marks

Yup just saying you mentioned the regular matches the final scene when the shield does not.

BV shield is a must imo for a Cap figure from this film.

You are correct. My mistake.

It looks like some of the time it did and some it didn't. They shoot over days and maybe weeks and use stunt and hero shields. The digital version from the trailer doesn't have it in some angles either.

No worries man. But you are correct in the references HT gets of course. And also about the digital edits. Though it is weird that his shield does not get cleaned up like it seemed to do in his other previous movies (cap gets into a fight and shield is def weathered but looks clean when the fight is over or in the next scene). Or am I mistaken? Any thoughts though?

Yeah your correct. That does happen in like every movie. Lol

It's probably mostly just an oversight. Many people working on it and all that. But it's also possible that it's done on purpose. To make the shield visually more appealing or read better on screen. Hard to say.

Re: Hot Toys Captain America:Civil War Captain America"Battling Version" Movie Promo

I personally like the clean shield and the interchangeable face plates that come with the regular version because if I were going to replicate a scene, it would be the scene where Bucky and Cap are beating down IM, as shown in the first trailer. Like Motux said, I think it's quite demonstrable that this scene was used as the main reference when creating the regular version figure.

My only thought other than what you mentioned and to fit into the story would be that since BP's claws are vibranium (his suit is so his claws could/should be the same material) and it leaves a lasting effect that cannot be easily fixed. Vibranium on vibranium.

This. It's the reason why I'll most likely go for the regular version.

And you are asking us if *you* want it???

Yes! I can't decide for myself! Already have AOU and not sure if I can justify this with so many new characters on the horizon. I'm a sucker for exclusives though.

:duff

Either one will turn out great, but I personally refer the clean shield, interchangeable face plates and as mentioned, if I were going to replicate a scene from the film with the figures, that would be the one.

Re: Hot Toys Captain America:Civil War Captain America"Battling Version" Movie Promo

I'm gonna be pretty happy now with this plus the reg head, pretty much all I wanted or need from a Cap figure -- this will be my one and only Cap.
