Re: hot toys captain america

Can't get excited when have not seen movie.

Re: hot toys captain america

Movie should be pretty awesome. I'm excited about that its Captain America.

Re: hot toys captain america

Granted the movie will have some impact on how populat the figure it, but I think for alot of people just having a 1/6 Cap is exciting.

Re: hot toys captain america

Even if the movie is pure ____, the costume design I love and a figure of HT caliber will just add to that. I'm also hoping for a Rogers umasked sculpt to achieve this.

Re: hot toys captain america

I hope it either comes with 2 suits and shields or we get 2 seperate figures. Following iron man model we will have at least though.

Re: hot toys captain america

Loved the Cap design from the moment I first saw it and the SS Cap statue and Hot Toys will be two instant purchases from me:yess: Here's a cleaner shot of that cover

Though I'm not in love with the design, the success of the movie (from a critical point of view) won't strongly affect whether I buy this or not. Wolvie: Origins sucked IMO, but I got that Wolverine because it is the best Wolverine toy in existence. Same should go for this Captain America. Crossing fingers that we won't get rubber suit.

This announcement is not the least bit surprising to me, though. I'm more surprised not to see Thor. But, maybe that's because they will have a prototype to show off tomorrow at the expo thing.

Re: hot toys captain america

Kewl announcement, but I don't like the suit so it's a pass.

:exactly: Wolverine both figure and movie regardless of faults were win-win IMO. Cap and Thor anticipate the same so I can create an Avengers ensemble. Little surprised Thor hasn't been announced yet.

I liked Wolvie both the movie and figure. I'm not worried about the movie for Cap but the figure is just gonna look amazing I'm sure. I expect the suit will be some kind of leather type material.

Well, we only saw one page maybe Thor is on another page with more announcements. I hope they announce it soon. I need my Avengers setup.

Re: hot toys captain america

The suit looks like cloth to me, so that is what I would expect the figure to have...

Re: hot toys captain america

I'd be surprised if we did not get an unmasked head. Evans seems like a famous enough actor for HT to warrant including two portraits.

Could be yeah. I thought it was leather but you might be right looking at the pics again.

Re: hot toys captain america

Leather seems popular for super heroes these days, but cloth makes more sense given his outfit is a military one. Although some of the pics we've seen make me question whether they'll let something like that deter them from leather. Personally, I would like to see it be the same type of material they used for the Spectre figure from SOCOM.

Re: hot toys captain america

Whatever material they're using in those pics it looks good to me. So if they can replicate that in 1:6th scale thats fine by me. Thankfully they've moved away from Spandex. :lol

Re: hot toys captain america

Captain America has been my favorite Marvel hero since I picked up my first issue in 1977, so I will definitely be buying this from Hot Toys.

Re: hot toys captain america

The suit is a badass design no doubt.

I agree with the evil Megacorporation. (never thought I'd say that.)

The E Weekly cover shot seems to suggest a texture like ballistic nylon.

Since the film is apparently largely an early 40s period piece, it would make sense that they wanted something tactical and practical, but not too unbelievably futuristic.
Movie Thor's costume looks a bit Schumacher-rubber in the torso to me. Movie Cap's looks very military, like a special forces paratrooper. The harness seems built into the costume. Kewl.
