actually, I'm new to the entire Cap'n America storyline. Is the movie accurate to the original comics? I am talking specifically about how he was a frail individual to begin with and only got buff due to some experiment. For some reason that put me off for a split second (maybe because it almost felt as if it wasn't really "him", or didn't originate from him). But then I realized, most of the super heros came about that way haha.
I'm no expert, my Captain America knowledge comes from the comics, cartoons and the internet, but i belive Steve Rogers was unsuitable to enlist, because of being either too weak or having some minor disablity, or terminal injury, he was however an incredible patriotic young man who wanted to prove himself, it was this patriotism and strenght of will that got him selectied for the super-soldier program, i guess if youre gonna give great power to someone you want that person to want to earn it rather that to just want it. The Super soldier Prrocess simply gave him the tools for the job, he was still the same person under the muscle, thats what they wanted i think someone who would retain their innate goodness and not get drunk with power.
Hope that helps.

For me, being a brit, Captain America was never like those idiots in WWE arenas yelling out U-S-A U-S-A in an ignorant, arrogant way.
Cap stands for the same things Superman does, helping peopl, freedom, peace, fairplay and civil rights, whether your an american or any other nation
He simply had too, like many of his countrymen, defend what he belived in, luckily what he believes in IS right, Captain America fought for his country, his people, and his ideals not for profit, gain or the will of the goverment.
Civil War showed that Captain America was never about pushing America's interests on the world, but about civil liberty, he went against his own government because what they were doing was against freedom.
Cap isnt a grunt that will do what his president says even if he knows its wrong, he will do whats right. If cap was real and was enlisted to go to Iraq, i dont know for sure what he'd do, but i think he would 'Think' about what the goal of the war is, is it necessary for peace or is it for the country to get rich, if its the latter he wouldnt do it, He's not just a soldier but a symbol of hope and courage, he wouldnt let himself become corrupt, kinda like Jesus, he'd die first.
