Love the suit, but those guys on the back...dont like that futuristic look this movie will have. Reminds me of the league of extraordinary gentlemen.

Hope Red Skull kicks some ass.

I'm trying to decide if I should collect all these first or just wait for the eventual redesign when they come out with the avengers movie.

I really want to put Iron Man, Thor, and Cap together.

Posted in movie thread, but no harm in reposting....

I like the suit. Its realistic and cool looking. Come guys, you really want Capt A running around in tights?

I don't want Cap running around in the Snow Suit he's wearing in the shots :lol

It looks way too futuristic for 1945. So out of place. And what's with the gray accents? :monkey4

Earlier Ultimate Universe Cap Outfit had Gray Accent.

That's my thought as well. I would prefer to have an Avengers logo on the base too :)

Ultimate Universe

If they wanted to take inspiration from the UU, they should have stuck to the suit that fit the era:

As is, he looks like a dude who just stepped out of a time machine from a distant future where it's cold, and everyone wears snowsuits.

love the look...some people just like to complain for the sake of complaining

:lecture This. I freakin love the movie costume. Ultimates is one of the best comic books I've read and I'm glad they used that as inspiration for the film.

That pic above would have been ok for his first costume, but as his eventual costume...Nah!!!

I still read comics and think the costume looks amazing. When are people going to learn that what we're used to in comics tends to look silly on screen?

You need to read real comic books :lecture:lecture:lecture

:cuckoo:
The first Ultimates mini more than holds its own with any other comic out there. It did wonders for the mythos of Captain America, such a bad a$$.

I could get use to the suit. The only things I really don't like are the gloves. I would've given him the Ultimates kind of gloves. I'll probably change that with the HT figure. The red and white star emblem on the shoulders I would've made bigger, and wings on the helmet should be 86'ed. But again I like it and can't wait for the movie and the figures. Really hope Red Skull is real bad ass.

that is true, but doesnt mean that the costumes hollywood make for the movies are the best possible versions for the screen. there are such a thing as a cool design n a lousy design, even for movies. justifying it by making it 'realistic' doesnt excuse a bad design.

this cap costume is an eyesore of a design. ditto with thor's costume. it's just too busy, too crammed with lines n details that are not aesthetically pleasing. sometimes simpler is better.

you have to understand that these directors and costume designers are not comic book geeks/nerds. they're not used to designing superhero costumes, so when they are asked to do it, they bring the wrong aesthetics to the table. geeks directors are different, their aesthetics ARE the comic book aesthetics, hence their superhero costumes tend to look cooler on the screen as the result(ironman, spidey, etc).

i bet if del toro, or the wachowskis, or peter jackson, all geek directors, have their hands on cap and thor, the costumes will be much simpler and much better than what we have now.

I'm not saying the costumes they make are the best. I think this one looks good. Thor's doesn't look bad, but I would have preferred to see him in something more similar to his Modern look. Chainmail and armor makes sense for a Norse god. Cap's costume doesn't make sense for anyone but a comic book character.
