The trouble is with those upcoming season 2 characters HT is probably waiting until their first appearances of the season to drop their figures. Gideon will drop after his episode, Ahsoka after hers etc. They likely didn't have images available for Cobb Vanth due to the ultra-secrecy around this season. It's not like any other toy company has pumped him out yet either. He could be one of those that randomly turn up for po months after the season has finished. No excuse for not making the Tusken Raiders though.

They said new characters from s2 would be coming. It would be great to see Cobb but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I am guessing that yellow and white trooper will be among the first to be revealed.

It doesn't get any better than this. More character development, more world building, more lore. It's excellent.

That's what I feel like...like watching Clone Wars/Rebels environments kept thinking how much more of the galaxy could be explored in live action. I'd love to see a live action Lothal with a/the Jedi temple. The Volume tech potentially makes so much more possible. And IMO these Outer Rim characters struggling after the collapse of a government (for good or bad) is an interesting slant, as is Moff Gideon and the fragmented Mandolorian society.

I know the movies obviously had different environments but they didn't feel as lived in, to me. Maybe Tattooine and Ach-To coming the closest. Probably because Star Wars - a lot of it is in space. Mando's job/journey puts him on the ground a lot more.

Yeah, HT seemed to pump out non-portrait characters pretty fast - tho quality-wise Mando V1 is excellent so no complaint there (except for no knife). Besides show secrecy, dunno how much Covid has messed stuff up with production and shipping.

Like, I read that holiday stuff (clothes, etc) usually would have started shipping in July. Covid shipping problems caused a ripple effect of backups. Feel like I'm lucky I got any figs in from SSC.

I'm fully expecting the Mando on bike figure release being the only Mando Monday HT news tomorrow. I hope I'm pleasantly surprised and they finally reveal one of the characters requiring an actual head sculpt. Another Mando can wait.

Justin has put up a preview video of Mando on bike. It's a really easy pass unless it includes the Fett armor. I can make my own hunk of krayt dragon meat.

Please buy this Cobb Vanth figure with no headsculpt because we have realised we can make more money if we just mass produce faceless characters and troopers.

If Cara or Gideon arent at least teased on Monday then I have no idea what Hot Toys is doing.

They probably won't be. It'll be Mando and bike. Hot Toys spent the past year developing Marvel stuff, and likely not much time or effort went into likenesses for human characters. If a helmeted character can be repainted and reissued to buy them time, you better believe they'll churn it out.

They've should've just re-used a RO or Solo trooper (e.g. Shoretrooper, Tank Trooper) rather than mixing a Mudtrooper and Tank Trooper. It looks like such a mish-mash. When will they realise it's okay to re-use troopers, they don't need to make new variants up for every single film/show/season. This one and the Mortar Trooper are so uninspired. Of course, I'm not stupid, I realise it's only to sell toys.

For me this Mandalorian line is on a knife-edge, are they going to commit to the characters people want or are they going to be lazy and make every single Din Djarin and trooper variant?

It seems fittingly Star Wars-esq that loving Hot Toys inevitably leads to hating Hot Toys. Admiration leads to collecting, collecting leads to expectations, expectations lead to disappointment.

I refuse to buy into this nonsense. Passed on the Remnant, the incinerator, and will pass on the next lazy wave of troopers as well. I hope others do too. Unfortunately HT would probably take this as a lack of interest in The Mandalorian in the same way they think that because an Endoskeleton from the new movies sells in low numbers means that a T-800 from T1 wouldn't sell either(not true btw).

Just start making Kuiil, Cara, Cobb, Gideon, and Greef HT. Whatever effort and time is required will be worth it. There is no point in getting invested into this line without these characters.
