Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

It's just his profession, his livelihood, caring too much about moral responsibilities whether "good" or "bad" would end up as dead meat Boba.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

If you work for vile gangsters and fascists you're evil. Personally, I think it's pretty cut and dry. :lol

I think at best his alignment would be Neutral Evil.

Not so sure it's that cut and dry. There are many that would claim their sitting government are a bunch of vile fascists who employ gangster tactics (and that's not directed at any one countries/states government), are all the government employees evil then?

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

It's cool Boba is back, I just wish he didn't look like a convention cosplayer.

We're talking about:

1. A government as unambiguously genocidal and totalitarian as the fictional Galactic Empire.
2. A mercenary that hunts people, captures people and hurts people, willing to work for the aforementioned government and a violent crime syndicate.

Your example appears to cite a corrupt government, then invite a philosophical debate on whether civil servants that find themselves pushing paper are evil.

The Galactic Empire is archetypal evil and so is Jabba the Hutt. Having plenty of skills, freedom of movement, and freedom to choose, Boba Fett has no problem working for either of them; Boba Fett is evil.

His profession places him in harm's way constantly, so we know he's not worried about potentially fatal outcomes due to the choices he makes.

Someone with his particular skill set would have been an asset to the Rebellion. Or if he didn't want to aid the alliance he could simply choose a profession other than working for the rough equivalents of Hitler or Escobar.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

What are we debating here, people are confused about whether or not Boba is a badguy? I didn't even know that was in question.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

So many HT opportunities...

Mortar Trooper

Squad Leader Stormtrooper

Boba Fett

Fennec Shand

Dark Trooper too. Will be down for another droid

I really want an HT mortar trooper. I?ll take a Tatooine garb Fett too.

Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"

I don?t try to overthink things but it?d be great if it was red herring and Boba betrays Din like he did Luke in the Holiday Special. But yeah, I doubt it as his theme on the show came across really heroic when he saved Din and Fennic. Plus, I like morally gray Boba.

You're certainly not wrong here, and its not like he hasn't done that sort of thing before. Hmmm. A very interesting possibility.

But see, to Fett those people would not be in trouble if they were not breaking the law. Han owned Jabba money. Pay up and avoid the carbonite. Or.... Someone can come hunt you. Its the bountys choice, really.

He is harsh, but he does have a code.

I understand that he has a code, but this isn't exactly a case of "tough but fair".

Hannibal Lecter also had a code.

Fett is aiding and abetting vile gangsters and the evil Empire.

Jabba is not the law, and some of the Empire's laws are furthering its ability to commit atrocities so it's not quite as simple as placing responsibility on the bounty as a 'law-breaker'.

Simply by working for Jabba he's passively condoning and/or actively aiding slavery, extortion, narcotics, murder, blackmail, torture and whatever else that slimy piece of worm-ridden filth is into. Jabba feeds enslaved dancing girls to monsters for rejecting his advances while Boba Fett is hanging out in the palace.

Boba Fett is evil. He just does evil within a personal set of rules.

Apparently all you need is a personal code and you get a free pass.

Haha, yeah it's definitely going to some time for this new look to grow on me. Although I did think he looked cooler with the helmet off at the end, and I can see that making for a pretty badass figure.

In fact I got a strong cosplay vibe from most of this episode, as the bright daylight really did make the costumes look cheaper than usual. Not just the Stormtroopers and Boba, but Mando as well. But thankfully there were enough badass moments to overcome most of that.

I feel that too, the scenery look cheap and this was passed to the characters, they should have film in the night with rain and a few thunderstorms to make Grogu meditating more "cinematic", when he stops the sky begins to clear and the end is the sun over mando and Fett in the Razor Crest wreckage.

That escalated quickly...

I would just simply refer to Boba as a practical bounty hunter trying to make his way into the universe. And most of the time, crime syndicate like the Hutts or the Empire pay exceptionally well.

Hannibal Lecter also had a code.

Hannibal was at worst an antihero. I say that because many if not most of those he killed were criminals with histories of truly heinous acts. If they died, no problem. One could almost say Lecter was performing a public service, altho admittedly that takes the analogy a bit far.

Fett is aiding and abetting vile gangsters and the evil Empire.

Jabba is not the law, and some of the Empire's laws are furthering its ability to commit atrocities so it's not quite as simple as placing responsibility on the bounty as a 'law-breaker'.

(...) So if you decide to stiff your mortgage holder, its ok because your bank is not in a position to enforce the law? Nah. They just call in those who do.

Boba Fett is evil. He just does evil within a personal set of rules.

So was Solo. He just got a pass because of his boyish charm and devil-may-care attitude. Lets be honest here.

It's true, from a certain point of view.

I don't think we need him to look like he did 40 years ago, we've already seen that and there's already a couple of HT figures with that look.

My wish is more traditional under garment (some kind of flight suit) and the severely weathered armor. Not the ROTJ look exactly but where the lineage is intact
